I do find it weird that the head coach can say he doesn't expect him to play, but he isn't kicked off the team...

I'm afraid no. Despite his 'transgressions' I've been a big supporter of D Rogers on here. Pretty disappointed we won't get to watch him play this season. Meh, life goes on.

I think he would have been kicked off the team if there weren't a way he could earn his way back on

Who cares? The guy is a loser and should be gone for good. Good riddance. There was UT football before this clown entered Neyland for the first time. And there will be UT football long after this clown is gone.

And he also said we have to respect the process. I've never heard a coach say anything like this and then have the kid reinstated. I think Dooley did everything he could to keep him in the fold. It's not official yet, but I assume that it will be soon. Dooley has moved on. It's time we do too.

Exactly. I agree with others who think that's coach speak. At the very least Dooley could have suspended him for the year if he really believed that.

I've read there's an appeals process he's going through, that's the only reason he isn't completely gone from the team. However, it's unlikely that will work, so effectively he's done. Anyway - not sure I know all the details, but from everything I've read, Rogers is done.

Time to move on. Guy was a headcase. Great player. But a headcase.

I would venture to guess that any conditions put forth for Da'Rick to live up to to rejoin the team would be entirely too insurmountable for him to accomplish. I simply don't think his character would allow it.

We need him for NCSU and UF-- the key swing games. Even if DR's appeal defied the odds and was successful, that's a four-week process. The soonest he could be back would be the UGA game, but it would likely be October. Doubt he'll stick around and wait, and the team has moved on.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if after all this banter and bashing, Da'rick appeals and it turns out there was a mistake. The overall change in mood when that was released would be unreal.

It might be unreal, but the reaction of most of his team mates and coaches could be: Oh NO!!!!!

This is a make or break season for CDD.

He will treat it as such. So as long as what Da'Rick isn't irreversable (drugs, something that will get UT in NCAA trouble, etc.), he will be back week 3.

Yes, yes he will. I predict that #83 Rogers will be on the field early in the first quarter of the NC State game!!!!!!

He cannot be back for the UF game. It's a formal four-week process, and the appeal was just filed.

He will be back, after FL game. CDD just trying to teach him a lesson.

Disclaimer: I hope

Nice what you did there.

There is a mandatory 30 day right? If it happened this week (as has been reported repeatedly) then 30 days from Monday would be 9/19. Earliest he could come back would be for Akron.

Although, I voted NO btw. I think there is more than a failed drug test involved.

I only voted yes as kind of an asterick(sp). If Dooley is like 4-4 and knows to keep his job he has to go like 3-1 or 4-0 to close season then before 9th game. Truthfully I don't believe that to be the case so, I expect the next time we see Da'Rick is taking order at Taco Bell.
