It needs to stop.

You’re costing the program money. Money that could be used for upgrades and improvements to the experience. Now they have to pay fines and maybe even give Bama some money. Can’t remember how exactly that works but Arkansas had to pay us a few weeks ago.

I get the 22 storming. That game exercised a lot of demons. The program turned a corner yesterday and it’s time to act like we belong.
More like acting like we've been there before....... because we have!

I hope not. I don’t think it should have happened last night but I like missionary, so it’s probably just me.

This was not actually “rushing” the field. It was more like, I think I will walk down to the field. When some of them decided that they thought it woul nice to esker a piece of the goal post home to put in my den. Two years ago it was a mad rush and people were getting stomped and rin over. This was just a peaceful walk.

While I don't feel rushing the field last night was warranted since we just beat them in 22. I will admit this being my only my 3rd game in the lower bowl (been to a lot of games up top) I hopped that wall like a damn gazelle

I would rather see Neyland celebrate in the stands, on the Strip, or In Old City and Bama resort to storming field in Tuscaloosa after a decade or more of losing to TN

It was a huge recruiting weekend. The recruits rushed the field first. The players you sign because of games like this are worth a lot more than 250k. Cut the check and let’s go win some games.

Victories against Alabama and Georgia are meant to be celebrated and an occasional field storming is part of that celebration.

I was on the field with my fiancé in Auburn for the 2017 Alabama game and I was on the field in 22' for our Alabama game; they are both experiences that I can fully recall to this day.

I did not go onto the field last night, but about 10,000 did. Those people, including students and recruits, now have something that will be a lasting memory that they will talk about for generations.

I am fine if it becomes a tradition every two years.

Looked to me like recruits there for the game led the charge, such as it was. I'm OK with that. I don't think it will become a tradition. We DEFINITELY need to take back "Dixieland Delight" going forward, though, to go with the cigars.

During the 2022 rushing of the field, following the win over Alabama, Randy Boyd was asked the question "How much is that going to cost?" His response - "It doesn't matter. We can do this every year!" Link

I hope it becomes the biggest party annually and we make overreacting to that win a tradition.

So youre ok with cutting a check to Alabama?

The only thing I would consider giving them is a box of kleenex for the ride home.
Who cares. UT makes more than 250k on beer sales in the 1st quarter. That’s drops in a bucket.

I do find it a bit of a conflict when the president of UT says this then you have cops threatening to taser fans on the field.

It's time to stop, but I will point out that both the fine and new goalposts were paid for by a crowdfunding drive that raised $152,000 or thereabouts - more than was needed.

UT got fined $100k for this one. Thankfully they dont have to pay Bama. That was what was stuck in my craw. I didn’t realize the clock restarted whne they made that rule. Otherwise we would have been writing the Bummers $100k check.

I’m not saying it should, but will it?

2 times in a row, plus I didn’t really think this game was one to do it in.. but they did.

So will Danny White lean into that and make it a tradition regardless of the circumstances of the win?
No storming the field in 2026 against Bama. Anyone that does is in danger of having their Vol card pulled for the rest of the season.
