Will Smith smacks a comedian.

Idk, if I was going to hit someone over my wife or kids, I wouldn't walk up, especially in front of the world, and slap them. They'd get busted in the mouth, he wasn't ghetto imo, more like desperate housewives. That said, I think he's mentally in a spot with his relationship.
Both Smith & Rock are jerks.

If you are referring to me, I am not. However, I do see the propaganda both sides of the media play. They all push whatever their agenda is. Most people are easily distracted is my bigger point.
Logically, do you think a grown man would stand, hands behind his back, and let another man slap him in the face? I don’t see that being realistic. So, it was either staged by professional actors, or millions of people have witnessed an assault with zero response from security. If someone jumps into a WWE ring, runs onto a football field, basketball court, or baseball field, there is usually a response from security. They just don’t let that person return to their seat.
Staged.

People say Chris Rock should press charges. Ummmm it’s on live tv plain as day. It’s not up to him really is it? Will assaulted him on live TV! If I assaulted someone on live tv or better yet in front of a cop I’d be going to jail even if the victim wanted to press charges or not. You know good and damn well there were cops there. How does he not get arrested?!?

Apparently in this scenario it's pretty much a matter of the person choosing to file charges.

Police say Chris Rock declined to file a report against Will Smith

If Chris Rock were a true professional, he could have gotten juice out of the deal. It would have been a Road Warrior type pop from the crowd.

Biden almost starting WWIII again (pretty much a daily occurrence of late I know)

Yeah I’m sure this will stay in the news cycle for days and days. Pretty wild how these two guys got together to manufactured an altercation just to distract from the Biden.

I mean when I type it out like that it makes perfect sense. 🙄

No, they manufactured an altercation in a pathetic attempt to make people actually care about the oscars, something that no one with a semblance of a life has cared about for the better part of a decade. Politics or Biden had zero to do with it. Just run of the Mill celebrity narcissism

Smith smirking on the way back after the slap makes it seemed like it was planned or he is psycho.

Not staged at all.

Smith is a punk bit@h. Rock should have gone full "comedian" mode and ripped him a new one.

EDIT............I guess it's good that CR took the high road and moved on.

He should have said Glad it was you and not GI Jane there".

I actually think Rock not having a better quip on hand is one of the reasons I don't think it was staged.

While I like yours Rock apparently joked afterwards he was "punched in the face by Muhammad Ali and didn't get a scratch". Now that right after the slap would have been funny.

I do t think it was manufactured to generate I treat in the Oscars. Will Smith was a up for Best Actor and am odds on favorite to win. Why sully the moment with something like this? What does he care if the Oscars gets ratings?

You conspiracy folks need to realize that the world is chaotic and random things happen for no apparent reason. There isn’t always some insidious plot behind it.

Chris Rock made a bad joke and Will Smith made a bad decision in response. That’s all there is to it.

While I don't think it has anything to do with Biden, which is crazy, CNN has already had a story about it being Trump's fault 🤣. Some people can't go into anything without making it political.

Before I responded I had to look this up. All I could find was ONE CNN analyst made ONE silly connection about no one leaving and “normalizing Trump”.

I can’t find a clip to see the context because all I see are right wing articles losing their minds about the 2 sentences they all quote, said in a broader discussion about the event. No other mentions of what else was said or even if the so-called Trump link was expanded upon. My guess is no since nothing else was quoted. The rest of said articles add their own conjecture as to what the woman “really meant”.

While I would agree it is silly to make that connection, it’s equally silly for multiple right wing pundits to amplify it louder than the original remark even was. And even more disingenuous to slap headlines like “CNN blames Trump for Will Smith slap”.

I read it on a CNN article on our work computer yesterday, and I'm not defending trump, I'm just telling you what I saw. CNN is on our work computer, and every day half of their stories are about him. Yesterday there just happened to be one talking about that. I don't care if you blame him, or the other guy blames Biden, I just find it funny.

And I'm not saying that being smart towards you, it's just CNN is pathetic, and not defending fox or whatever by that. CNN posted a story a couple of weeks ago about what Christians are supporting Russia in this war, and it's just stupid, it all tied back to trump. He was a goober, but their obsession is hilarious

And of course you probably “looked it up” on Google, right? Not that Google suppresses or downranks content they don’t want viewed or anything like that.
CNN would blame Donald Trump for the common cold of they could get away with it.
Not that I like Trump, as I have said many times before he is not a good man and is never anyone we would aspire for our kids to grow up to emulate. But he was a 1000% better President than the angry, arrogant jello brain currently occupying the office.

I believe this was spontaneous to the same degree as Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl “Wardrobe Malfunction” and Madonna’s controversial kiss of another woman on the MTV music video awards. Bread and circuses. Bread and circuses

I’m *not disputing CNN gives Trump way too much oxygen (In much the same way Fox still carries on about Hillary Clinton). But the only thing I could find was right wing sites all crying about the same quote.

To me that is the true problem with “the media”. Both left and right outlets constantly looking to pounce on each other.

When the ratings for the Oscars have basically fallen to the same level as the Invicta Watch Hour on the Home Shopping Network, you gotta try SOMETHING to get viewers back.
