Will the Bama game on the Third Saturday in October be preserved

I chuckle when people say the Iron Bowl is bigger than TSIO.
Not at the expense of the Iron Bowl, no. If they can preserve both, they will. If one has to be sacrificed, then the 3rd Saturday In October will be the one to get the axe, unfortunately.
Unfortunately, this is our own program's doing. We sucked for more than a decade while the Iron Bowl produced some all time classics. So in recent memory, people think it's a bigger game. Hopefully '22 and '24 are the turning point for the TSIO.

You mention SEC bargaining position. Who are they bargaining with? I would assume the networks, and I honestly don't know. Seems to me that's the tail wagging the dog. The SEC shouldn't have to bargain, but I guess we should admit, the networks own the sport and not vise-versa.

ESPN. Over the price of the TV contract. It’s been pretty widely known that the hang up with future schedules is the dispute between the SEC and ESPN over number of conference games and the amount of money the conference gets to go to 9 games.

The refs got the call correct in the Nebraska-Ohio state game. Complete pass for Nebraska and 15 yards against OSU.

Hell, they’ve already told us that game is not a priority to be a permanent opponent…because UGA and SCAR don’t play this year or next.
And if there were other, deeper rivalries for both schools that took precedence, that would matter.

For example…Tennessee has at least 5 bigger rivals than SC. So SC is not a keeper game.

But ultimately, if GA-SC is a permanent game, great. If not, fine. If it is, it’ll be because there aren’t bigger ones for either team to preserve.
