I'm a Vol fan. However, I am not a Dave Hart (who is a Bama fan) fan... nor am I a fan of his idiotic hire.

I like this hire, it feels good to be able to say he's a good coach, instead of having to say ... well he's a good recruiter ... or but he's a nice guy.

I'm here.

I wanted Strong, but this guy appears comparable.

No SEC ties, but more head coaching experience
Didn't build Cincy, but is 2-1 vs Louisville

Oh...and he wants to be here.

I'm for Coach Jones to do well, that means the team is doing well. Why gripe about him and say he is going to fail when you want the team to succeed? I don't know what kind of fan that is.

He wants to be here because Cincy could not shuck out the $$$$$ like OKSU and UofL did to keep their coaches. No experience at a major D1 level program. Does that sound vaguely familiar (Doolaide vs Jones Soda)?

How big of an idiot are you? And I don't ask trying to insult you. Butch Jones was hired as the head coach of the University of Tennessee. Would I have loved to get a Gruden or Peterson or even Patterson? Absolutely, but this coach had nothing to do with that. He saw an opportunity and took a job that he wanted. There is nothing the fans can do but support him and hope he has success. If you want to continue being a whiny bastard then please go root for a different team.

i think in my heart this guy can be better than dooley he'll have a chance to maybe win a sec title but i don't think he will get us a national title. this guy does seem like he could turn in to an arrogant, steve spurrier, like guy if he starts getting the big wins especially when dealing the horrible knoxville media idiots.

Good Lord, the man hasn't even coached one f-ing game yet and if we choose to give the guy a chance and be supportive we're sheeple?
Look, everyone wanted the WOW, OH MY GOD, hire but it just didn't happen. I think we got a solid coach, and hopefully the next superstar coach of the SEC.
Let the man do his job and let's see what happens. You have every right to complain and voice your displeasure but it ain't changing the fact that Jones is the coach.
It's just wasted energy and helps perpetuate the aura of negativity that has been surrounding this program for what seems like the last 10 years.

Who am I? UT alumni, fan since 1966, season ticket holder forever. But I don't care for Hart. Until Jones proves himself he is just a fairly successful coach in two of the lower conferences in the country. No where near a great major impact hire. I am neither a wild eyed sunshine pumper or a chicken little sky is falling. But UT should have done better hope I am proven wrong.

I'm behind coach Jones. Am I happy with the state of things or the top leadership of the university? No. However, butch Jones is our coach and he has done some good things in his career. I'm excited to see what kind of staff he puts together and to see what he can do. I find the things posted by vol fans on his twitter embarrassing. Disagree with the hire? Fine. But I don't understand why some can't show some maturity and class at the same time. Me and my family will still be in neyland next season. Already counting down the days!

Why don't we see how well he recruits, his staff, and his ability to coach in a big game before we write him off as a failure? Just give this guy a chance. He wanted to be here and wanted the challenge while others didn't. I think he'll be a great coach and I'll be supporting CBJ 100% of the way. If he brings Tee home and gets Woulard, I'd be sold already.. GBO!!! Can't wait to see the improvement next season. Although, I'm not expecting much next year with the schedule. I still think we might surprise some people.

Seeing who is going to be on his staff and how this recruiting class ends up will tell a lot about what direction the program is taking. Next years schedule is gonna be a killer.
