Will there be players opting out of CFP bowl games for NFL draft?

Hahaha imaging Jeanty telling his teammates they don't stand a chance of winning so "peace out" good luck with that boys 😂 😂 😂 talk about burning every bridge he built.
Many guys would understand that he has an opportunity they can only dream of having beyond Boise State.

How would you feel as a teammate of a guy with a future if he blows a knee or gets a broken leg or really any lower body injury that might cost him millions just so your team could get destroyed my UT or tOSU or GA?

I'd like nothing better than watching GA get burnt by Boise State and Jeanty to get 400yds rushing but if he were my kid, I'd want him to think long and hard about his risks and his future before the game.

There's a difference in an ego and looking out for yourself. Listen to Peyton speak..He talked about his teammates. Go back and listen to Manziel or Leaf. They talked about themselves. Stars and especially QBs are leaders.

Look at the most notorious NBA stars/leaders abusing the load management/out of shape for regular season and playoff games

Embiid, Zion, Ja, Harden, Ben Simmons

Great players but their teams aint won shat...
I recall Shaq talking about his teammates complaining Kobe wouldn't pass, so he talked to Kobe. "Kobe, there's no I in team."
"No, but there is a M E in that mofo...."
Shaq went back and told them, "He's not passing, just get the rebounds." Kobe did alright but he could back it up.

Look at Peyton, then look at Eli. Peyton definitely has a big ol ego and superiority complex. It worked for him because he usually was the smartest guy on their sideline.

When it comes to college, most guys will never see the NBA or NFL, so "looking out for yourself" is knowing that you can make it and not letting the team hold you back from that goal. College is great and teammates are great but getting yourself to the league is on you and making those decisions that work for you are more important if you have what most don't.

NFL money vs a college bowl.

If you have a decent draft grade like Hyatt did, don't be an idiot and take stupid chances like driving drunk or playing in games that could cost you millions and millions of dollars.

Why are they in a position to make millions and millions of dollars? Because their line blocked for them, their teammates took physical punishment for them, for a receiver their QB stood in the pocket and threw to them knowing they were about to get blasted, for a QB the receiver caught the ball and took a nasty hit in the process.

And for so many of these players, it's the last game they will ever play for the rest of their life, but you're quitting on them because in your mind you are the most important thing on your team.

You're quitting on the guys who sweat and bled for you. If I had a son on the team, you better believe I would be telling him you don't sit out the bowl game. You finish the job.

Some that are going into the portal and already have deals with other schools will opt out. They aren't going to get hurt and lose out on money and the new school isn't going to pay for a injured player.

As far as the NFL draft...yes several will opt out of the bowls. With the playoffs now all the other bowls are like the NIT in basketball.

And why don't the coaches? They leave because they're doing the best thing for their career.

Those guys who sweated and bled for them would do the same, and some big uglies do, opt out and wait on the draft.

Why are you against guys taking care of their future? You'd be more than happy if the next time we needed a coach he bailed on his recruits and team who bled and sweated for him if he was a 5* coach.

The coach argument is poor. They rarely leave before the season is over, and if they do then yes, I think poorly of them. They almost always stay and finish the job.

Even Pruitt stayed with Bama and finished the season before coming to us.

Again, poor argument. You're on an island in this thread.

They recruit these kids, sell them on the program, promise to develop them, then they leave before finishing the job.

Guys like Kiffin leave virtually overnight with zero warning. That's finishing the job?

Luther Burden III is among the first to opt out of a 2024 bowl game. I would think that NIL contracts would prohibit this. Do you think a CFP team will have opt outs?
Maybe not on point, but playoff teams will have players leaving through the portal that won’t play. The timing of the portal makes this situation almost a certainty. UGA has one already.
