Will we really be One of the Best next year?

It also leaves no room for foul trouble or injury even with Stokes. I guess we did ok Pearl's first year with a lot of guards, but I do not know how much he will use having 3 guards quickness to press.

Well have enough post men, it'll just be whether they are freshman or juco. Yemi, Nichols and atleast one more post player is expect here in 13'. Add in stokes possibly staying and that's 4 post players.

As i said, we should have enough IMO, but 2 or 3 of then may Br inexperienced juco or freshman.

I don't see ccm pressing at all either, so even with 3 guards which is basically what we played this year anyways, 3 guards 2 forwards.

I see addition by subtraction with Tatum, Woolridge, Washpun and either Hall or Miller gone.

Richardson looks like he can be a 8-10 ppg player imo. McRae is a wild card but this was really his first year of playing regularly, so hope springs eternal. A real key is finding good PG relief for Golden.

Stokes and Maymon are going to be a force from game one, so there aren't going to be any Austin Peay-and-Oakland bumps in the road next year. We definitely won't be .500 going into conference play.

There comes a time when you mature and it's just too bad McRae hasn't had that happen yet. It's frustrating because he's so athletic and long but he absolutely sucks right now. He REALLY needs to hit the gym hard this offseason and get a lot better.

I find it interesting he's good friends with darick Rogers.

Both have all the talent but so immature, really a shame. Hopefully they room him with stokes and that maturity/work ethic rubs off on him.

SEC will be tougher as a whole next year. I don't see Ky being better and Candy surely won't. Who knows with Fla. We seem to have their number.

25 pts vs Chaminade, 5-7 3ptrs; I thought that was his coming out party. Granted it was only Chaminade.

He seemed to lose confidence offensively as the season wore on, even though his defensive improved. Maybe they can find him a good sports shrink over the offseason.

We need another big who can play a respectable, say, 10 minutes a game, if necessary. Two bigs isn't enough.

also Gilchrist has said he is staying 4 years (don't believe it, but that is what he has been saying)

Well looks like Kidd-Gilchrist is entering the draft ESPN crawler says he will enter as he is the #2 prospect.

Did he declare or is that just a mock draft?

Edit:

Just looked it up Mkg is gone, sweet.

How many do you think Ky will lose? I thought even if they leave in good academic standing that a school takes an APR hit. I know it's worse if they are not in good academic standing, but I would think by now they would have lost a scholarship.

I can't figure that out to save my life, I apologize, the APR confuses me and I'm not motivated enough to learn it haha. My thought is like yours, but there must be a stipulation as they've yet to get into trouble.

I don't see why you all give McRae such a hard time. He has the most athleticism of any player on our team. No, he's not consistent. He's the kind of guy who can win you a game single handedly or lose you a game the same way. He's a poor man's J.R. Smith. He isn't going to become "more consistent" in one off season. He just needs to minimize his mistakes when the hoop isn't so big every night.

It would also be awesome if what is happening to UCONN would hurt KY in their great years and APR makes ineligible for tourney

My biggest problem with Jordan is his need to look into the crowd and yell anytime he finishes around the basket - regardless if it's a good play or not.

You only get 4 years in college.
He's already wasted 2. (oooh that's harsh)

It all depends if we get Trae help at the PG position and Cuonzo's development of McRae and Richardson. Richardson is a much smarter player than McRae. McRae is probably the most overhyped prospect I have watched in a long time. He is a top 30-40 national recruit and in basketball at the shooting guard/small forward position you need to be able to shoot, which he cannot do, since he shoots 3's at .328 percent, which is bad.

His athleticism is THROUGH THE ROOF, but his lack of physicality and shooting ability are major concerns. He has to put in the most work by far this offseason if he wants to think about having a career in b-ball and taking Tennessee to the next next level next year.

On a side note, Maymon is a better NBA prospect than McRae. Remember Maymon was also not much behind the McRae in the high school rankings, although they were a year or two apart. This was discussed earlier but people were giving McRae wayyyyyyy too much credit. He is a one dimensional player that doesn't know how to properly shoot the basketball or pass the b-ball, averaging only 1.5 assists per game. Additionally, he averages 1.5 turnovers a game, so his assist to turnover ratio is 1-1 which is crap.

Look at his performances this year he did not play well in the big games, he played well against crap teams, except the UF games where he showed up. He has a ton to prove and has to start by playing a lot smarter.
