You need to quote Fauci in context, broseph. He's not definitively saying "RELEASE THE UNTESTED VACCINE ASAP!!!"...

"The Data and Safety Monitoring Board could say, "'The data is so good right now that you can say it's safe and effective,'" Fauci said. In that case, researchers would have "a moral obligation" to end the trial early and make the active vaccine available to everyone in the study, including those who had been given placebos — and accelerate the process to give the vaccine to millions.

Fauci's comments come at a time of growing concern about whether political pressure from the Trump administration could influence federal regulators and scientists overseeing the nation's response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, and erode shaky public confidence in vaccines. I never said he did. Nor is anyone else saying release it no matter what. They are saying get ready. I know you hate the idea of readiness. If it hits the criteria Fauci is saying it needs to then human trials will end early. That’s what your screaming about. Human trials ending early.

Seriously? None of this strikes you as politics? You seriously don't think that Trump is ramrodding the FDA into releasing an untested vaccine prior to the election?

Do you think Fauci would sign off on it if it’s not ready? Secondly, don’t you think we should be preparing to distribute a vaccine now? Or should we wait until after one is developed? Then you get to slam Trump.

The only way this happens is if the results of the trial are overwhelming and completely transparent. A guy like Fauci isn't saying this stuff just because.

IDGAF if Trump, Biden or whoever says so. Outside of gunpoint or some other kind of mandate, I will not be willingly taking a vaccine for COVID or the flu.

Isn't that basically the same argument as one that you'd probably rail against . . . that the virus is a hoax and will go away on November 4th?

You know what? In a twisted, malevolent way, I kind of hope this vaccine release before the election turns into enough of a debacle that no one feels comfortable taking it. That may crush any sentiment later on for a mandatory vaccine whenever Bill Gates and Fauci come out with their witch's brew.

Maybe.

So one of the unexpected consequences of this is that with an "approved" vaccine forced out of the gate, people will no longer volunteer to be inoculated with some random crazy ass test vaccine. Need 30K to do a Stage 3.

And... oh BTW....

The FDA will approve a Stage 3 drug if it achieves 50% efficacy (performs 50% better than a placebo). So... vaccine is 50% effective. Grandma gets vaccine, thinks "I'm good!", goes out, catches CV19, dies.

You don’t think he will he asked? He’s said today that if the vaccine meets certain criteria that it could be ready by November. Seems to me he and the FDA are on the same page.
