I've seen this comment several times, but it's certainly misinformation. We have effective vaccines a number of RNA viruses: measles, mumps, rubella, polio, Hep A, rotavirus, influenza, yellow fever...No, because there never has been a truly effective vaccine for an RNA virus.

What we do NOT have is long-term safety data/experience with the widespread use of vaccines that use mRNA technology. I think that is a primary hangup for a lot of people.

Will you willingly take the CCP Virus (aka Coronavirus, Covid 19) vaccination?
Why or why not
Should it be mandatory
How much testing before mass deployment
Who decides who gets it
Etc.
Discuss CONSTRUCTIVELY
PLEASE KEEP PRESIDENTIAL AND OR PARTISAN POLITICS TO A MINIMUM. US AND THEM TRIBALISM ONLY HINDERS CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOG.
I don't think it's "understandable at all why nobody would want it" at all. Would you be OK with people not vaccinating their kids and sending them to school with your unvaccinated kids? Can you elaborate on your statement on why its "understandable"? Are you a anti-vaxer that believes vaccines cause autism?
Polio, Rotavirus, HIB, Measles, Rubella, Mumps, Tetanus, Hepatitis, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria and Pertussis have all been eradicated or severely limited in infection rates since they were introduced.
It's bewildering that anyone would not want a vaccine that could possibly prevent them from death. Given the "why not try it" hullabaloo about the hydroxyquinoline here last week by the same crowd, I can't help but be puzzeled by the irony.
A vaccine from a deadly virus, yes please.
There is a lot of misinformation out there about the vaccines. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are not made from fetal tissue. The US conference of catholic bishops have released a statement that it is ethical to receive those vaccine. What is somewhat more controversial (to some) is the astrazeneca vaccine which does use cell lines to develop that did come from an aborted fetus in the early 1970s. These are cloned cells grown in a labs over the years that are derived from fetal cells. To my parents that is significant enough that they do not want the astrazeneca vaccine but it is remote enough to others that they do not see the vaccine as anti pro-life. It is a personal choice. Pfizer and moderna vaccine really is just a small mrna chain that is surrounded by a lipid or cholesterol wall.If it has stem cells in it I will never take it.
I would choose to rather die than have been potentially helped by the cells of an aborted fetus.
There are some things I will bend on in life but this isn't one.
I have made it clear I feel abortion is genocide and if what I am being told is true so far that these vaccines have this in them then I am out.
Lock me up.
Execute me.
I will meet my maker with a clean conscious.
Flu vaccines are a money grab, they are barely half effective at best for 1-2 strains each flu season. It's not the same as the importance of a MMR vaccineliterally amazes me the amount of people who don't get flu vaccines. This is exactly why we shouldn't have shutdown to begin with. Even with vaccine many won't get it .
I respect your opinion, but I don't personally think it's a money grab. The strain changes year to year just like you said, so it's hard to predict the effectiveness. I don't know if you've ever had the flu before, but I have and it's one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had. I get the vaccine every year because I'd rather have some protection from it than risk being contagious to someone else.Flu vaccines are a money grab, they are barely half effective at best for 1-2 strains each flu season. i know its a money grab because ive had this discussion with hospital administrators as well as pharmaceutical reps...they mass produce it knowing that hospitals are now required by ACA to have 90% of their team members get a flu shot each year or else they have to pay a $2 million tax to the government. Also local regional health centers and departments are required to buy a certain amount from the companies as well to distribute for tax purposes as wellI respect your opinion, but I don't personally think it's a money grab.
