add/drop is the deadline for adding or dropping classes without getting a "W" for withdrawal on your transcript.

as long as the add/drop period is still in place, u can not be ruled ineligble because u can still change ur class schedule during that time period.

the EE are locked in bro, they arent going anywhere unless they sit out a transfer yr. TideWarrior even made a thread with the rule that Mike Hamilton refered to.

The NCAA would likely grant them a waiver to not sit out a year, I don't think this will keep them at UT if they don't want to be there.

Thanks! I think willis has to sit out or that's what was stated.

willis doesnt have to sit out cus he never was enrolled.

and NikeSportsfan, when was the last time you remember the NCAA granting a player a waiver just because of a coaching change?

I think in this situation they might. They hadn't signed a LOI or anything. They probably did attend classes or were on campus. I can see the players who were in bowl practices having a tougher time getting a waiver. I think the ones that came in this past weekend though could get a waiver. Thompkins though I think would have a difficult time. Either way though I think it would damage the recruiting more to try and hold them if they wanted to leave after this situation. If this was your normal coach leaving after a season and you had been on the team I would say no waiver. Even if you signed with the team I would think it would be hard to get a waiver. I think though if you just enrolled in classes or went to campus it would be easier to get a waiver. Not sure about all the lingo and things, it just seems like the logical thing to do.
