Win or lose where do you stand?

If we put up a fight, I’m content with it either way. I’d be ecstatic if they win. No one expected us to be where we are right now with this opportunity. You can’t put the last 15 years on this current staff and players. It’s the progress that matters. GO VOLS!!!
I understand your point. In my heart of hearts I'm wishing for a Vol win Saturday. I know the history of Alabama and their stockpiled 5 star players. But sometimes the cohesiveness and dedication of a lesser team can overcome these advantages. Both Alabama and Georgia have had mediocre outings this year. If Tennessee can have a relatively error free game we might be able take advantage of Alabama or Georgia letdowns!

Okay, so just who are the "expert bettors" you said favor Bama? Can you provide a source?

In my experience, the wisdom goes like this: "amateurs place their bets the week prior. Experts decide and place their bets in the last 24 hours."

So what experts are you talking about?

Alabama is a 7.5-point favorite in the game, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

Google is quick and easy. I got this source in about 10 seconds. I stopped there, sure that I could get more if necessary. So could you.

That doesn't mean the experts are betting that way, Al-not-from-Alabama.

That means the Vegas bookies (not bettors, bookies) think the betting public will put about half the money down on either side of that line.

You have no idea how the experts are betting, do you? [they probably don't know themselves, yet, waiting for hints about Bama's QB]

I think we going to beat them both with my orange glasses on . But if I had to chose to lose one it would be Georgia because UT can still get in the playoffs with 1 loss I think . But since undefeated is better they both going down lol

If you're thinking only of CFP chances, then one loss to Alabama and then running the table to get to Atlanta and beating them in the SEC title game is your ticket. Lose To Georgia that late in the season and you are depending on what happens with OSU, Clemson, and USC, and also depending on UGa to beat Bama in Atlanta. Too many loose ends.

I don't get the 7.5 point spread. Is Vegas saying that Alabama is a 10.5 pt. favorite (after factoring the 3 pt. home advantage) without even knowing if Young is playing, or do they have inside info that he is playing? If Young is out, the game to me should be a pick'em at best, factoring in our home advantage.

It’s all good either way. The pressure is all on Saban. We’re playing with house money and weren’t really supposed to win this one so stealing it would be so sweet. I can’t believe some of y’all would rather beat Georgia than bama. This is Super Bowl for me. Call me old school. Either way I got my black n milds in Jackson Tenn and praying we win

Since I posted from the beginning I felt similarities between this season and the 98 season which I had season tickets (only time ever) I was wondering will you be okay if we lose close or are you tired of excuses as I am? I mean nearly fifteen years out of the last twenty years we been a laugher up on the hill. Just wondering.
I've said it before....I always saw this as an 7-8 win team. What they've done to date has been fantastic. Never imagined a season like this. They're playing with house money Saturday and vs UGA. This team has a real shot at 9 wins and a great bowl. When you consider that and the fact that he's done it with this roster, it's a minor miracle. No offense to the kids, but let's be honest and admit that this is not an upper level SEC roster at some positions and definitely lacking in depth. No, I won't hold it against Heupel should we lose to Bama at home. We're not close to their level in terms of the roster. Having said that, this is the first time in a long, long time where I think we've got a real shot to beat them. Gonna take a hell of an effort by everyone, but it's doable for this bunch. Should be a great game.

Not a problem @all loosing this game if you make a game out of it! We still control our own destiny. However, damn, wouldn't it be epic? Go Vols....Neyland I will see you in a couple of days!

We probably won't win but we are definitely ahead of schedule. Hard not to be satisfied with that for now.
I think there's a good chance that Tennessee wins i think this Alabama team goes 10-2 with losses to Tennessee and Ole Miss and misses out on the SECCG.

No matter what happens at this point Heupel has us going in the right direction. He could lose to Alabama, Georgia, and Kentucky and I’d still be happy with the 9 win season. I’d be disappointed if we dropped one to South Carolina or Missouri and finished 8-4 at this point though.

This year, my head will rule my heart as it has for so many years before. I do believe this is the best chance we’ve had in many years to actually win the game. My hope is that we can make it competitive all the way to the end. If so, we have a chance to pull off the upset. Be still my heart.

My head reminds me that we are still 2-3 recruiting classes behind mighty Alabama. I think we will find it difficult to beat the horses they have at every position. I fear our running game may be humbled. I fear they will be successful running the ball against us. And our offense will be challenged by the best passing defense it has faced.

If we do lose, then I see us going 10-2, with a loss to Georgia as well. That is extraordinary success for this program by any measure. It should help us in recruiting. We’ll get a decent bowl game and still be a rising force in the SEC.

Win or lose this game, the future looks better for Tennessee football than it has in a very long time. Either way, be proud Volnation!

Bama is the betting FAVORITE by more than a touchdown. But, if you don't want to believe that, you go right ahead.

Going 10-2 even with losses to Alabama and Georgia is a huge step up for the program and will probably mean Tennessee plays in the Sugar,Orange or Citrus Bowls.

Agree Jeff. At the beginning of the season I would have been happy with a baby step to say 8-5 with no embarrassing losses. 10-2 would be a tremendous leap forward. The thought of perhaps beating either Bama or Georgia in the second year of a major rebuild? What was it that Armstrong said stepping on the moon? This would be bigger.

Realistically I don’t think many expected us to be where we are atm so I don’t want to lose but if we get 9 or 10 wins this year we need to be grateful because we’ve seen the alternative. That being said Vols by Fiddy
