Win out, win East division???

UF and UGA absolutely must lose 3 SEC games along with UT winning out. No way around that. Then Mizzou MUST lose 2. Mizzou losing two is feasible, but I don't see UF and UGA losing 3 each.

UF has 4 SEC games left: Mizzou, UGA, Vandy, and USCe

UGA has 4 SEC games left: Vanderbilt, UF, Auburn, and UK

Unless you've got Vandy or UK beating one of the ranked teams, then that's pretty much impossible.

If we win out then this is the best case scenario

Mizzou loses to Texas A&M and us but beats Florida and USC (2 SEC Loss, we have tie breaker)
USC loses to us and Mizzou (3 SEC Losses) but beats Florida
Auburn beats UGA.
The winner of the Cocktail party loses to Vandy.
this puts both Florida and UGA at 3 SEC losses. (Mizzou, LSU/Auburn, Winner of WLOCP/Vandy)

As we are the currently lowest ranked of these teams I don't see a way we win the last tie breaker of highest BCS rating, there just isn't enough time to make up that much ground even with a win over Alabama so we have to beat out Florida and UGA by one game.

UGA only has one conference loss at the moment; to get both them and UF to three losses either:

a) UGA would have to lose both the Auburn and UF games, meaning in your scenario UF would have to lose at Vandy

Or

B) UGA would have to beat UF and then lose to Auburn and either Vandy or UK (in this scenario)

Neither seem all that likely to be honest.

Have USCe then beat Mizzou and you would be good, regarding tiebreakers.

But that requires TN not losing period.

With our current talent - one does not simply "win out".

Anything is possible. If they play with heart and passion like they did against GA they have a chance. GO VOLS!

Unfortunately, we match up poorly versus Alabama. We could win the rest though.

Unfortunately, I see a few obstacles in the way, one of them is a big nasty crimson sumbeech.

Sumbeech x 1000. I fantasize of beating them when I workout. Why can't we beat those elebuts. Oh well. I'll spend the week talking myself into the possibility, lol.
I'm proud of the Vols for responding to adversity. :dance2:

With Mizzou's talent, on does not simply go 7-0... Oh wait.

UT STILL has more raw talent than Mizzou. Mizzou has a great O system. And when they play USCe they will have been 3 times the beneficiary of UT beating up the starting lineups of more talented teams.

and 2 days after you said this, UGA lost to Vandy. I can't believe it either. :p

I think injuries have killed UGA to the point that they may lose to the rest of their schedule, even UK. The team we need to worry about losing is Mizzou (and obviously AL to us). Winning out is horribly unlikely because of AL, but I think the rest of the scenario will actually work out.
