But then you may have a conference championship that has say 4 losses but yet leaving out a 1 loss second runner up team in another conference.I say let's take the 5 P5 conference champs and one wild card team. The wild card will be the highest ranked team in the AP poll who didn't qualify as a CC, and they would be the 6 seed. First round would be 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5, with 1 and 2 getting a bye.
I’m one of those fools who thinks you should win your conference to have a shot at the NT.That’s a terrible idea. Too many crap conferences
Georgia would beat Notre Dame and Oklahoma
But I hate Georgia
All the pundits agree
Agreed. Announce the change 3 years in advance and let it serve as a notice to ND and other independents to get in a conference or be left out.I’m one of those fools who thinks you should win your conference to have a shot at the NT.
To me the championship is more than the final game. It’s the championship of the champions.
But most disagree I’m sure
I'm fine with that. A 9-7 division champ still makes the playoffs with a shot at the super bowl. It's the way all playoff scenarios, with the exception of college football are set up. You win your division/region/conference you get into the playoffs with a shot at the championship. The wild card still gives the non CC their shot. But then you may have a conference championship that has say 4 losses but yet leaving out a 1 loss second runner up team in another conference.
It’s not the NFL system and need to be expanded to 8 or more but play in games and NCAA requirements won’t allow that with practice and recruiting. They control to much. The best scenario would be an 8 team playoff. Lose the Big 6 New Years bowls but it’s about revenueI'm fine with that. A 9-7 division champ still makes the playoffs with a shot at the super bowl. The CFP is set. UGA had its chance to be in it again this year. They didn't defeat Bama. So be it. Enjoy your Bowl game, Dawgs.
This Bowl season, I hope for UCF to win. What a streak... If Oklahoma wins the CFP, I hope that UCF has their own NC rings made again. I like the attitude.
That posted, I think it will come down to Clemson vs Bama in the NCG. I would be gleeful should OK find a way to defeat Bama, but, that's Powerball lottery odds...
