Windy's football discussion thread.

Could it be that this it what we and the team must endure to become a contender?

So grimly ignore the awfulness, knowing (or believing, or at least hoping) that this is what we have to suffer through to make the resurgent Vols come through the fire?

I’m willing to hunker down if I think that we are actually going somewhere. Unlike a lot of FF posters, I know/acknowledge/believe that you just don’t turn the Queen Mary around on a dime.

* places paper bag over head *

— there’s a reason that I never went into management. I have never been able to comprehend people who don’t want to work, and I sure as hell don’t know how to flick that switch.

I was at the 45-3 Florida win in ‘90, then the 9-6 loss to Bama the next week. Talk about polar opposite emotions, I am still pissed about that Bama game. And the Auburn tie a few weeks earlier.

That Bama game was the worst loss I attended. Heart wrenching.

The loss to Notre Dame in 90 was the best. Helluva comeback that just fell short.

To add:

If this is what’s going on (only playing those who really want to be here, even though they need a TON of polishing up):

Do it, but say so in the press conferences. Don’t just leave us baffled. I can suffer through another season or two of shame and misery if I actually believe that there’s a plan in there somewhere.

Yeah, I have always said that Notre Dame was the best loss I ever attended. Probably the best football game I have seen in person despite the loss. If only Andy’s pass had been a yard higher.

I think he’s more or less said it. Before the season the best guy was playing. He didn’t say how he was defining the best guy
