WINTER OLYMPICS

Just tuned back in to the Opening Ceremonies . . . those cultured Italians that OWB loves so much are playing cheesy pop tunes from the 70s and 80's in the background as the athletes march into the stadium. It was only slightly lame . . . and then they just made the Croatians march in with YMCA blaring in the background. :huh: :lol:

The speed skating is my favorite, especially the women and the bob sled would be next. :matrix:

Thus far....

-Poor marks to NBC for their coverage. Too much bouncing around and dragging out the results.
"Lets go to the half pipe for snowboarding..." 7 minutes later... "We'll be back to the half pipe shortly"... An hour later..."let's go to the half pipe"...
You get the idea.

-I hate having to avoid the ESPN ticker giving results that I don't want to see until I see the danged event. Quit doing that ESPN!!!

-Why the heck did that Kwan girl want to go to Italy, when she knew she wasn't well enough to even complete a practice session?

-Bode Miller, will you now please shut the hell up! You lost on the biggest stage in your sport. Favorite my butt, what a load of hype he turns out to be.

-Short track speed skating is actually fun to watch! Who knew?

- Shaun White. Cool kid. Exceptionally talented. Gold medal performance.

So I'm pretty sure you're a "no" on figure skating. How about half pipe and freestyle skiing? Got international judges for those suckers, just ask the snowboarder kid from finland who got seriously lowballed in last night's final.


Overall, I'm enjoying the whole thing. But waiting 'til midnight to see the medal ceremonies? That is just too late for this old boy.
