Wireless Earbuds

Just popping in to get some advice. Recently for Christmas I got some airpods. I hated them, the sound was OK, but they would not stay in my ear for anything. I could be on the couch watching YouTube turn my head once and they're in the floor. Has anything come out recently that any of yall have liked? I want a set that I can do house work or go to the gym with and not worry about them being in the floor every 5 seconds. My price range is around $100.
I'm looking at either the Beats studios in that range(I have a set of wired beats I really like), but most reviews say they aren't the best for the gym. Or I'm looking at the Samsung true buds around that range. If anyone has experience with either please let me know.
TIA.
I recently bought my wife a pair of the Samsung Galaxy buds, and they fit and sound terrific. Kind of a different design than most, like a bean that fits right where it is supposed to. They are on sale for $70 on Amazon right now

I just got the Galaxy Buds Pro 2. I gave 150 iirc. I like them more than any I have used, they're much smaller than anything and come with different size tips. The touch controls from the Galaxy app are great. I'm not sure if any other have those features but with the Galaxy wearable app you can customize certain controls. I have mine set to touch and hold left to open Google assistant. Double tap you ear (not the buds) to volume control left ear up right ear down. Single tap pause. And triple tap l/r to switch tracks. I never have to take my phone out to do anything if it's unlocked because assistant or Bixby will pretty much do anything. You can set to smart unlock if they're connected ofc. As far as sound, they're buds so don't expect amazing quality, not even from the high end overpriced crap.

I got some Apple Air Pods last fall and they worked great for a while and stayed in my ears pretty well. But the left one stopped working after about 4 months and I'm now going to have to take them to an Apple Store to get the left one replaced. From what I've read, them just dying and not charging anymore seem to be a pretty big problem.

My Bose buds broke awhile back, and I've been using my son's old Beats when I run. I can't stand the hook over the earlobe. Prompted by this thread, I did some looking on Amazon and found some Samsung buds pro on a "renewed" sale for $59. Figured that was worth a shot!

I've had the original Galaxy Buds since March 2019 and uses them every day and they still work great.

Apple products are designed to have to be frequently replaced. Their marketing team has done a fantastic job convincing people their products are superior.

I tried several brands before just biting the bullet and getting some nice Airpods. I've never had a single problem with them.

I have the original galaxy buds and the buds2. I definitely prefer the originals. Work great still, decent charge time, stay in my ears, etc

I've had great luck with the Beats Fit Pros for working out. Once you get the hang of putting them in they stay pretty well.
Got a pair over the weekend and love them so far. I've always had problems with earbuds staying in, but not these.

I think at one time, Apple products were better built/longer lasting/less issues, but that has certainly changed over time.

Because I see the apple discussion.
The main reason we went airpods. My sister wanted new bluetooth earbuds for Christmas. She hates any brand that has the rubber tips on the ends, the airpods fit her well. The price for these were in the budget, and then since they were on sale I snagged myself some as well.

I have the AirpPod Pros and I like them quite a bit. My only issue with them is I like to fall asleep listening to podcasts and the AirPods wake me up when the battery gets low.

Funny story. I have a pair of wired Sony earbuds that I use sometimes because of the above issue. When I was in Miami for the Orange Bowl, I woke up on game day and realized that one of the rubber tips had come off of the earbuds and was lodged in my ear. The more I tried to dig it out, the deeper it became lodged. I ended up having to go to urgent care to get it removed. I felt a little better when the doctor told me he'd had the same thing happen, also with Sony earbuds. 😬

Been hearing some scary stuff about the radiation levels these things put off. I’d assume the risk is far worse in growing brains. As many kids as I see wearing these, I think brain cancer treatment could be strong investment play going forward.

That's never crossed my mind wearing earbuds. Thanks for giving me something else to worry about.

If it's any consolation, earbuds and headphones emit much, much lower levels of radiation than cell phones, and it is the "non-ionizing" type (much safer than ionizing radiation from sources like nuclear reactors, x-rays, CT scans, etc).

Yes. Much like you’re better off taking a 38 spl to the head than a 50 cal.
Wired over the ear headset when speaker phone is not doable is the way to go, but people want convenience. Cell phones will be to the next generation of tort lawyers what tobacco was to mine.

They’ve fallen into having to offer something new constantly but are still superior to most and their customer service is great especially if you’re near an Apple Store. I have an iPhone 8 Plus that’s still in mint condition and works flawlessly. A MacBook will last years and won’t be obsolete in a year or two.

I'll never buy another apple product. They go out of their way to lock their systems down with both software and hardware. Nope. Never again. I'm android/linux and open source and have been for many years now.

The Samsung Buds 2 Pro are 50% off on Amazon right now. They are easily my favorite that I've ever owned. Crisp, deep bass, comfortable, and excellent noise- cancelation.
I'm kinda rough with my headphones so I don't usually go for the big names. I've use Anker for some time. Used their wired phones for years for yard work and working out and still have them. They took a beating with no hiccups. After a lot of catching the wires doing regular things and having that weight really impact a secure fit when I sweat heavily, I decided to give wireless a try. Went with anker again and have been very pleased. For what folks are paying for beats and apple buds, I can almost buy two pair of the anker buds at $69.99.

I'm telling you: the BP2 for $120 is an incredible deal. The sound is a significant upgrade, even from Beats
