I'm talking about doing this with the starters, before you begin 2nd half substitutions.IMO I don't think the rookies have enough experience to need to prepare for crowd noise yet. They haven't gotten used to the speed of a live game, executing the standard plays, or basic communication on offense & defense within the unit and from the sidelines. Increasing crowd noise would be counterintuitive because its would hinder the basic experience they get from live game action.
