WNBA walk out during national anthem

Did you really watch it to begin with?

Anyways, why are you people still so fixated on something that goes on before a kids' game when your country is burning down, your economy is spiraling down the toilet and your rights and liberties are being eroded away? You would think that a silly azz flag or song before a game would be the least of your concerns right now.
Because in some ways this emblematic of all the things you just listed. They are insignificant, yet some of the ideology that they promote has been a contributing factor to the decline of the country.

So, in your opinion, walking off the court prior to it playing is the same as walking off while it’s playing? Personally I don’t give a **** what anyone does during the anthem. Just trying to understand your position.
College football teams don't come onto the field until after the anthem is played. I wonder if they all stand in the locker room? Because I know they can hear it.....hell no they don't stand in the locker room

Did you have to stand for it when you were in the AF, assuming you were?

As I said previously in this thread, I think that if they had walked out while the Anthem was playing I would’ve taken major issue with it. I don’t agree with kneeling, but I feel that is a players right to do so. If the players walked out (they didn’t ) while the Anthem was played I would find that to be a much disrespectful way to protest than kneeling.

Where do think you will go when you die? Nothing political, just curious?

I'll answer - - will you? I'm an ex-communicated Catholic. Now I'm agnostic. I expect there is a higher power of some sort not just the "religion" promoted by mankind. In my concept of a higher power there is no after life. I "think" when my time on earth is over the lights will simply go out and there will be nothing further. What do you "think" will happen to you?

Same thing.

Was Never Basketball Anyway

It is basketball as the game was intended by Naismith and the original peach baskets. Basketball was a below-the-rim game. The WNBA and WCBB is the only below the rim game today. The mens' game, while exhibiting excellent athleticism, is not traditional basketball. I enjoy "pure" basketball and hence enjoy watching the women play.

I used to enjoy WCBB but it went from a fundamentals game to the women trying to play like the men do without a 10th of the athletic ability.

Yeah I missed the days when a guard would launch one from 35' and swish the net every time.

There remains one WCBB team that plays excellent "fundamental" basketball. Unfortunately it is UCONN. I get a lot of flak for complimenting them whenever I do on the Lady Vols Forum. But if you enjoy excellent basketball, and I do, you have to admire what they do year-in-and-year-out for 20+ years now.

I think so - which is really surprising. Listening to the announcers, it sounded like they had been informed what was going to happen beforehand. Plus, you could look at the video and see people moving around on the floor that would have never been happening if the anthem was playing. Somebody at ESPN really blew it.
Did they?.... or was it on purpose?🤔

Also, women hurt themselves, IMO, as they try to compare themselves to men by attempting dunks. The botton line is men are bigger, stronger and for the most part faster and more athletic. They were "the hunter gatherers" They had to be.

Good for you. I will go support them when they play down in Melbourne. I actually agree with you that the 'skill' part of the game has given way to slam dunks. The level of boredom I have with the NBA is on a par with soccer.

However, I don't think Dr Naismith is spinning in his grave at what it has become. I wish they would start deducting points for missed dunks though.

And the only way I would ever attend a WNBA game would be if: 1) it was free, and 2) It was Jack Daniels handle night for all in attendance.

Couldn’t agree more. Deduct points for missed dunks and FT’s in the men’s’ game and missed lay ups and FT’s in the womens’

I add the missed FT’s to the mix because it adds a whole new tactical scheme to the game especially in those close scoring games with seconds left in the game. When and who to foul takes on a whole new look/dimension

I see little difference whether the first note has played or whether it's about to be played. Now I asked you the question. What difference does it make to you?

ok?

- Vanderbilt is the best college football team in Nashville
- Kenya has the best basketball team in Africa
- I am the best karaoke singer in my family

All of those are still very subpar to the overall average of what's out there
Tennessee State is in Nashville 😉
