Why leave Louisville? My son travels a lot for his business and he's told me that Louisville is one rough city and he'd take Knoxville over Louisville for a lot less. I'm sure when you make $250K+ that probably doesn't matter since there are nice areas in any large city, but just saying.
It all starts with the freshest ingredients. Why would Walz leave Louisville? He has his program at or near the top. Why would he want to start over? Money? I expect Louisville can or is paying him as much as UT will or can. (he might us UT to leverage a raise and longer term deal with Louisville, we've seen this ploy before) I'm just wondering....
Louisville newspapers are making it sound like he's coming to Tennessee. I think there is a very high probability that he will become the next Tennessee women's basketball head coach. It sounds like you don't want Jeff Walz as Tennessee women's basketball head coach.
Louisville isn’t Tennessee.I don't care who the new coach will be. I am just wondering why a guy at or near the top of the heap and could be there for a good long while, would want to come to UT knowing (to some degree) what would be expected of him. (almost impossible things this day and time in women's basketball, i.e. SEC championships nearly every year, finial fours most every year and NCAA championships with consistency) Not to mention the real possibility that he will need to "start over" with these girls who I don't think have be exposed to (or excepted) the efforts that it takes to be "one of the best". If I were in his shoes, I would ride the horse I was on until it started to "fall behind", then be in the frame of mind to rebuild another program.
Louisville isn’t Tennessee.
Tennessee can pay more and probably generate more revenue streams off the court as well. The prestige and the pay is just more at Tennessee. How often do you think a job like this opens up?
It sounds like you're not a fan of Jeff Walz. So who would you want to take over as the next Tennessee women's head basketball coach? I think a lot of posters want Tennessee to hire a mid-major head coach or assistant coach that they can hire cheaply.Really? You think Tennessee can or will pay more than Louisville? I doubt it, there's a lot of money in the state of KY. I still think it depends on how much Louisville "loves" Coach W (can't spell his name yet). AND I still say watch out for him (his agent) playing us for a better deal at Louisville.

Had HW had the results of JW she'd still be employed.I don't care who the new coach will be. This is something didn't I know. (there are many as you likely know) This could be enough to convince him that the "grass would be greener on the UT side of the fence".Walz routinely has to beg for money to stay competitive in recruiting. I don't think a Lady Vols coach has ever had to beg for support. If were a coach, I'd be highly attracted by the prospect of receiving that level of respect.
