I'm a fence sitter on the larger issue but this case surely demonstrates what we already knew but that pro-choicers often deny: women get abortions for all sorts of reasons - including making their lives more convenient.

i guess it shows that its her perogative to get knocked up by some guy she probably doesnt know, and then because it will be an inconvience to her life style go have an abortion. Personal responsibility? This is America!

Did anyone else catch her stated reason for so many abortions? This is her stated reasoning:"Irene Vilar said she had the abortions not from poverty or fear but as an extraordinary act of rebellion against her 'controlling' husband who did not want children." Either this woman is lacking a fully functional brain or that is a misquote.

Something doesn't make sense here.

for someone who gets an abortion?
No for someone who has 15 abortions in 17 years. No matter what your view is on abortion, the fact that she has been having these at this rate is a crime that should be punished very harshly. The capital punishment statement is probrably overboard, but I think she should be dealt with like a criminal imo. At the very least, she should be ordered to get her tubes tied or whatever so that she wont be able to have any more of these "convenient" abortions.

around abortion 2 or 3 she should have thought, wait, theres a solution for this, i can get this and this tied, and bam, no more worries.

im thinkin that it was mean that "it was an extraordinary act of rebellion against a controling husband with whom she didnt want to have children"

something along those lines

That makes her actions so much more noble.

I agree that take makes much more sense in the context of the quote but it still makes her about as smart as a box of rocks in my eyes. If you are so sick of your husbands controlling ways why not leave him rather than subject yourself to his abuse, not to mention the abuse you put your body through by having so many babies aborted.

I'm sure many on the fringe left will hold her up as some sort of champion but the truth is that 98% of America will see her for the sorry excuse of a person she actually is. Not because she had an abortion but for her abuse of abortion and the vindictive reasoning for doing so.

her husband "who didn't want kids" could have had a much safer and less invasive procedure to prevent it too.

Ok, so you are saying that killing 15 unborn children is not a crime?

again, what law was broken? You keep saying this is a crime but I don't see where one was committed

it all comes down to your definition, if you believe life begins at conception, then this woman is a serial killer

no matter your stance, abortion should never be used as a viable option for birth control, and thats what this person did
