Wonder if the staff ever considered Pair at TE

they seem to have figured recruiting out. They also seem to have figured discipline out, as well as fairly solid defense.

Well said OrangeInKy...and how to reunite the AD, fans, former players, etc, how to balance tradition with innovation, how to get the players to not quit against Florida, how to generate excitement where there really should be very little, how to make us think we have a chance (cue Lloyd Christmas)....

I admit I was really frustrated and confused by them, until I saw a second half agaisnt Florida where even though the probability of winning was very slim he kept them fighting right down to the last Worleybird pass. They didn't just "not quit", this staff made them "keep fighting".

This staff has shown some fight, and I like it. Shoot I got stoked just watching Butch verbally reach into the side judge's skull and yank his brain out on the sideline early in the game. If the staff will get mad and keep fighting instead of getting scared and quitting like the last staff, these kids will gradually become mentally tough with that same fighting spirit. But it takes adversity IN GAMES to build it over the course of a season. I already see improvements, and I think by November we'll see a completely different type of team on the field.

This was my thinking, although it's just a guess.

I think Pair contributes next season. At this point, either that or he's a roster casualty for the '15 class.

Im pretty certain that its been confirmed that they are doing there best to redshirt Jackson. Would be huge if we can, because he was pushing for first team reps this past spring.

Jackson was a rated 4 * on ESPN. Strong run blocking in his resume.
The red shirt freshman Sanders (also 4* rated and run blocking resume) will start next season with Crowder, Kerbyson, Pair, Posey or Wiesman.
Should be more punch in the running game.

I say move Croom over to TE. He instantly goes from average WR to match up nightmare for a linebacker or strong safety. I know a good one that plays for the Cowboys that did not want to move to TE either but it worked out pretty well.

Witten also became a great run blocking TE. Witten has that I will bust you in the mouth attitude. Witten is also very assertive and has great hands. Croom would need a year just to get stronger and learn to block properly. Then, he has to learn to catch consistently and become more assertive. Every video I've seen, coach Azzi is screaming at Croom saying things like you can be unstoppable etc. A lot of potential, but Croom must want to be great.
