Name the last GREAT 2 star player at UT?

Again, not saying we have one waiting in the wings or have had one recently. Just saying that the whole "2* gonna be a 2*" doesn't always apply. Give kids a chance to come to school and work hard. Just like a 5* doesn't guarantee success. Hence Goodpasture's 5* WR Patrick Turner going to USC, he stunk.

You do realize Quinn will be a senior next year? There isn't much time for him to develop. I'm thinking CBJ will cut him loose after this year.

Patrick Turner wasn't a superstar but he did have 1800 yards receiving at USC and was drafted in the 3rd round. That's isn't exactly stinking.

Again, I am not saying Quinn is going to pan out. That isn't my point. I was just addressing the guy who said "2* will be 2*". It bothers me when people limit kids because of what some guys at Rivals say. I will say one more time, that statement has nothing to do with Quinn.

Fair enough but the other guy is right. I think we have to go all the back to the 2008 class to find a 2 star or 3 star player that has exceeded expectations here. There are always exceptions if you look hard enough but it's a fact that 2 star recruits are very rarely difference makers in the SEC. Still I see your point.

Can't remember, was he a Doofus recruit or Jones? Either way, he was questionable from the get go.

Mark Elder fell in love with his athleticism and we needed TE depth. It happens but I would have much rather took a flyer on a HS defensive tackle.

True, the difference will be made in developing those 2 and 3* players. We'll see if this staff can do that.
