Working the fan base

Kind of Bruce Pearl-esque.

I am guessing that CBJ realizes that he has some selling and marketing to do. He realizes that he was not our first choice, and he is in the position of rallying the fanbase. Just like Bruce had to peak interest in what was a down basketball program.

Half the battle right now is selling the hire, and the other half is getting players for the future. While I was a bit disappointed in the hire, I will always root for UT and its coach. I like his energy and attitude.

There was a big difference in his intro presser and dooley's, I believe he can actually coach, and he will inspire the player's unlike dooley. He's been at smaller school's, but so has every other big name out there. I think in a couple of year's all the hater's will be glad it went this way.

Wasn't real excited Friday but the more I see of Jones and his approach to this job the more I like him. I had said i would wait until this time next year to make a final decision but if he lands Tee i will be fully on board. With Jay Graham, Thigpen and Tee UT should be a recruiting machine and as we all realize.... Winning programs get that way because of recruiting. The coaching happens later but you gotta have the talent first.

I love it. Not completely sold on him leading us back to the promise land(yet) but the guy seems personable and friendly. Dooley came off as an egocentric jack*** in my opinion. Love the rallying of the fan base and the motivation he seems to have. As smart as Dooley supposedly was he couldn't get an alcoholic motivated enough to drink.

He has said all the right things so far. I like bringing in fan favorites like Tee Martin to help also. Tee wont improve the coaching staff even a little bit, but he will kill it on the recruiting trail and that trumps everything else. Jones is in a no lose situation, and people with nothing to lose are dangerous. I think we hired him out of desperation, but he obviously has a plan and for that I give him a +1.
