I don't understand why our country can't put together a winning baseball team in the WBC. I didn't realize some of these guys get this far out of shape during the offseason.

I don't think that's really the case. It's just that the pitching is never going to be very good in the WBC as long as it's in March when players are getting ready for the season that actually pays them. Nobody is going to risk it.
