Everybody agrees Worley has really shown leadership this past 2 games. This week is crucial to his progression.
The Oklahoma DL will certainly be trying to overmatch this new OL. Early in the game if the blocking breaks down, he must NOT try to force something to happen. Take the 3 and out and take this offense to the sideline for the offensive coaches to make the blocking adjustments. That's not his job. That's their job. NO throws off the back foot or into coverage. Justin needs to show extreme patience in the early going and continue doing what he's been doing playing under control with confidence. We have plays to get the ball out quick to some playmakers and we have several. Can't let the pressure turn into easy points for OKla because they have 5 TO's in 2 games.
I don't have as many concerns on the Defense for some reason. We have some experience there with guys like A.J., Maggitt, Sutton, Randolph, Coleman teamed with some game youngsters like T Kelly Jr, Hendrix, Owens, Barnett, Maybin, Vereen, Lewis, Wethard, Mosely Williams, and McNeil that are very capable of turning some heads when the spotlight comes on Sat night.
Looking forward to this game but insistent that Worley maintains control if the protection breaks down at times. He's been a real leader and if he can lead under adversity in a tough road game, then the confidence going forward will be solidified. Read the defense, protect the ball, get the ball into the hands of RB's, TE's, and WR's timely and with confidence.
That is all. As you were, gentlemen.
