Worley ranked 13th - SEC Qaurterbacks

That ball was also under thrown. He couldn't even manage a touchdown in the second half. I'm surprised Worley didn't lose that game. North had to make a miracle catch to win it.

In almost every other game he played, he did bad. Remember South Alabama?

You're trying too hard to hate. I'd recommend Azzani's interview from yesterday to you.

When asked about whether it helped the WR's to have a QB named, his response was interesting, insightful, and completely relevant to Worley's "bad" play last fall.

Short version- if WR's are inconsistent then a QB cannot be successful in this system.

You are right but that was last year. We should support Worley and hope for the best and improved play from him. If he hasn't improved CBJ will make a change.

He beat a top 5 team (ranked 4 at the end of the season). He is ready to take the next step and get this program back to a bowl game.

This is like the worst QB year in the conference in the last 10...if he cant crack the top ten then...

You're correct, but I am the #1 skeptic. He'd have to make huge strides to get us above 7 wins.

He'll look like it simply because the WR play is going to improve so much. Oddly, he'll probably get more credit than he deserves....

I truly hope so. I'll be watching the O closely next weekend.

I was talking specifically of North's one handed catch, where Worley put it just ahead of the defender behind North, and underneath the safety coming across. Perfectly placed.

One out of how many? For that one pass, the whole forum can bring up 100 that completely sucked.

You won't be using such a worn-out quote if JW wins two straight against USCjr...and he may well do that. With no certainty as to where last year's receivers were going to end up at the end of their routes, is it a wonder that all three of UT's QBs became reticent to let go of the ball? All three? What does that tell you? I surmise that Worley's "turnaround" will be considered "miraculous" by midseason, considering the crisp completions he'll be making from the get-go. Properly run routes, bro, a quarterback can make.:thud:

I hope he wins the heisman, and I'd have to eat many servings of crow. It's the fault of both the WRs and the QBs, but even as our guys were progressing Worley would keep doing the same thing. He had problems under throwing during fall practice. I bet Worley will under throw the crispest of routes.

Well then, maybe a blind Burger can find something positive to say about Worley eventually. He's our Qb, lose the hate. It's a brand new year.:rtfm:

Really? On those passes Worley put the ball in the ONE place to be successful. If those throws were anywhere else, they would've been picked or incomplete. But he was on point. However, I guess you believe North threw the ball to himself.

This is correct IMHO. North made his "miraculous" catch because the throw was put into a pretty tight window and about the only place it could've been put for a completion. Corner was all over North underneath-should've been a PI- and the safety was coming over and would've likely broken the pass up if it's even a yard to 2 longer. The primary reason it was a miraculous 1 handed catch is because North didn't have use of his right arm/hand because the damn SCar CB was virtually raping him.

On the 48 yd completion to North down the seam in the 4th quarter, Worley threw the ball 50 yds and put the ball high allowing the 6'4 North to up and over the 5'11 safety. People on here point to these 2 throws as being poor by Worley, when they just weren't. If anyone doesn't like Worley and thinks he just sucked last year there were other throws they could point to, not these two.

I hope I can eat Crow, cause I have done my share of doubting him. That said, I'm fired up about him standing out and playing to the potential he has worked and played for.
But 13th? seems sketchy to me.
Worley has proven more than Blake Simms/ Cokers mop up duties.
I would not be surprised if Worley ends up in the upper 1/2 of the conference by our bowl game(yes)
