Worse before it gets better

You won't get close to 7 or 9 wins next season

Whole new Oline, new d line, new Lbs , same, secondary, and same QBs. Still going to be slow on D except for a few here and there.

Only positive is they should know the offense better

Well I would be dissappointed with six wins next season. The way people say we win 5 games this season or less we need to have a freshman starting at QB. Couldnt be any worse. Two more seasons of 5-6 wins with no quality wins and Butch is gone. I think we can get a bowl this season as well as 7-8 wins next season.

5 years is a long time. If it take 5 years he might be gone. I would expect 7-9 wins next season and year 3 closing in on 9-10 wins. Squeeking by with 6 wins a year and saying he needs more time isnt going to cut it. Dooley got 3 years with declining each year and he was gone. Why should a better coach get 5?
The coaching carousel is what put us in the position we are today. Winding it up in three years could set the program back a decade.

Anyone who knows anything knew we wouldnt be good this yr. We lost our top 4 pass catchers(patterson, hunter, Rivera,Rogers) starting qb and our offensive line is built for pass blocking(this system is read option for the run). One thing is our defense is better 5 or 6 wins at best.

I've got a different view altogether. We've just seen the best defense we'll see all year. The week before, we saw the best offense we'll see all year. The game should slow down on both sides of the ball from here and show improvement.

This.

We have the potential to win against South Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt. Any of the other three would be a miraculous victory, but the season is far from over.

IDT season ticket holders and donors are going to be as patient with another 3-5 year process as people with no skin in the game. Hearing that same message for six years straight, while the on-field product gets worse makes it harder and harder to keep forking over four- or five-figures to the athletic dept. They'll be giving seats away in November if we continue to play like we have for the past two games. You can only sell hope for so long.

True, hopefully they'll realize that CBJ needs time. Lack of patience starts the process all over again. CBJ has a solid plan, just needs players.

I don't care who he brings in. That offense he runs isn't going to win more than 6-7 games at it's best

Really, then explain why CBJ won FOUR championships in six years with "that offense." I know the reply will be this is the SEC. Correct this is the SEC but "that offense" is basically the same offense that Louisville beat the Gators with and what Oregon uses. The OP is correct, we simply do not have the players (both talent and depth) to run "that offense."

Vol fans, everybody needs to calm down! CBJ has a solid plan and we are finally on the right path back to where we were a few years ago. It is a process and the process needs to be followed! KEEP SUPPORTING THE PROGRAM AND ENJOY THE RIDE!!!

2014 depends on how well we can rebuild our O-line and D-Line. As long a Maggitt is healthy, we have a core for LB but they will lose starters too.
