I think the networks are afraid of Deja Vu after that sort of performance. It doesn't attract sponsors.

Georgetown followed up with one almost as ugly against towson.
so we ain't the only ugly this season.

They've got 2 quality wins over Wichita and Xavier, a close loss to Georgetown on the road, all without their leading returning scorer from last year. It's not always pretty, but anybody who's not happy with and 8 and 3 record from this team is an idiot.

Going by RPI there are two 8-3 teams ahead of us. One, Miami, is 15th and has a legit argument as #1. The 2nd, however, is UMass at #37. You'll recall we beat them by 14 on a neutral court. Thus, Tennessee is actually probably the 2nd best 8-3 team in the country.

Wow. Someone who actually looks before he speaks.
Kudos and welcome to the board

Solid first post...now, can we get you to tutor the OP?

It's obvious when someone makes a thread that they show how much they really know or don't know about the game.

This is just stupid. Some people are never happy I guess if we end up making the tournament we will be the worst team in the tournament.

If we win the championship could we be considered the worst team to ever win the championship?

I don't know if the Vols are the worst 8 - 3 team, but we're not very exciting to watch. Unfortunately, teams that lose by scores of 37-36 and 46-38 don't attract much network TV coverage. I'd trade about half our roster for a single Chris Lofton.

Unlike football, basketball times and network are decided before the season. So attracting network coverage has nothing to do with this season.

We play plenty of games on espn, CBS, and the like.

I'd give my right pinky for a punctuation mark in the OP.

What would you do with a punctuation mark? Then the next question would be, why would the OP need your right pinky?

Inquiring minds want to know! :)

reason for edit> thought I better not capitalize the word know, seeing bad English grammar is frowned upon in this establishment :)

The answer is just "no" you are wrong. Just look at the other SEC teams that have 3 losses and even 2 losses. TN at worst is 5th best in the SEC.
