If you were in HS in the late 90's, then you just flat out aren't old enough to appreciate Def Leppard, especially in their heyday. Hysteria was so great, I literally wore the tape out.

I don't think I understand all the hate for Every Rose Has Its Thorn. Either you love it or hate it, I guess. There doesn't seem to be any in between. I fall into the love it category btw.

Hysteria was their first album after their drummer's car accident. Rick Allen had to completely re-learn how to play the drums after losing his arm.

"Rocket" will always be my favorite Def Leppard song.

btw, my hatred for Poison isn't limited to "Every Rose...", while I can't deny their commercial success, they are by far the worst hair metal band of all time.

I'm no fan of Poison, but they are in no way worse than Europe, Warrant, Twisted Sister or Winger.

How can you say that "Every Rose..." or "More Than Words" are among the worst ballads? You can hate on hair band ballads, but those are classics in the genre. I'd have to say they are top 10, along with Carrie, Love Bites, In a Darkened Room, Without You, Love Walks In, Is This Love, Nothing Else Matters, Love is on the Way...

Oh, and FWIW, Nuno Bettencourt was a master of the axe.

if those are the genre's classics, then the genre really and truly does suck
