Worst coaching job in 2+ years IMO

Look at these numbers, and then listen to this interview. Hard not to feel really bad for Jarnell...

Jarnell was 6-7 from the field at the 17 minute mark in the second half, then...

@VinceSports: Re-watched. Number of times #Vols passed to @JarnellStokes in the post in final 16:40 vs Mizzou..once! None last 11:41”

Stokes got 1 pass in the post in the final 17 minutes, after going 6/7 from the field and their entire frontline being in foul trouble?

I thought it was pretty similar to the coaching here the last 3 years in close ballgames. Someone said we were 2-9 in games decided by less than 10 points which usually comes down to coaching sadly.

Mike Strange's column on the game has this headline:

"Shouldn't someone have noticed Jarnell Stokes?"

I'm glad the sportswriters are finally questioning Martin's boneheaded decisions.

They did run the 1-3-1 today. Came out of a timeout and we were in it. The result was a lob-dunk over our back defender (McRae). Missouri then calls time out a few seconds later and sets up a trap in the front court and makes a steal on an errant McRae pass.

Point is, the 1-3-1 certainly has it's advantages...but when your guys play poor fundamental defense, it doesn't matter what you line them up in. Outside of Richardson, we have no perimeter defenders on this team.
I watched carefully. They never showed the 1-3-1. You are wrong!

Pretty classy by Jarnell, he is there to play, not make coaching decisions. But really this is pretty unbelievable all their big men in foul trouble and we are launching shots from the parking lot!!!

Big's in foul trouble, pound it inside, pound it inside, pound it inside..... Do I have a point to this? Yeah, POUND THE BALL INSIDE! Tired of shrugging my shoulders and shaking my head.
Just so darn confused...

I am not a BB expert, but you can see even if you are half blind that this is what you do. That worked in the 1st half but was't done in the 2nd.

Go Big Orange!!

It seems the heat is definetly increasing on Martin.

Didn't he select them and brought most of them with him from his prior gig?

And it looks to me like he doesn't let them do any coaching while on sideline.

This. I know I'm probably overlooking something, but it seems they just sit there. Maybe they're stunned like the rest of us.

There is no excuse not going to Stokes in the post, especially when the other teams bigs have 4 fouls.

I watched the gAme until about 3 mins and couldn't take it anymore.

Yes they did, you are wrong. JW3 caught an oop over McRae when we were in the 1-3-1
Even if they did, you don't do it for one play when it shut down Florida for seven minutes of the last ten, my point! Besides you said McRae was underneath. That position in Josh's in their 1-3-1!

I didn't say he was underneath.

He was on the opposite wing that's supposed to drop down and he didn't, it's happened about 5 times to him in the 1-3-1.

Could you tell me the time interval they used it??? I watched for it the whole game. I know what a 1-3-1 looks like and so do the announcers.

It was the 1st half, I wanna say coming out of a Missouri timeout, but I could be mistaken. Find where Jonathan Williams lll catches an alley-oop, rewind 25 seconds, there's the 1-3-1.

You cannot be serious....

You need a reality check if you cannot see the hypocrisy.

Whatever bruuuuuu.......... Do yo thang and keep posting those commits texts!!! That's real smart there Mr. Insider.......

Funniest post of the entire thread :eek:lol:
