It's actually mentioned in the greatest covers thread, but I personally think Guns N Roses destroyed a great piece of work by Bob Dylan when they covered "Knockin on Heaven's Door"

I believe you mean Knockin' on Heaven's Doe-ah-wah

I didn't care for their version of Whiskey in a Jar either.

That Whiskey in the Jar cover is one of their best efforts period.

Since we're talking about Metallica:

Disturbed covering Fade to Black is painful.

White Lion - "Radar Love" it's fun to play on Guitar Hero and the GH cover band actually does a better job than White Lion. Nobody touches the original Golden Earring version.

any song covered and added to the soundtrack of a Donald P. Bellisario TV show. Magnum PI, Knight Rider, Simon and Simon, Remington Steele.

it sure was fun to watch though...

also, totally unfair that you find some YouTube version that totally distorts the sound beyond anything close to what Britney actually did.

PS, I'm not saying it was good btw. I will say I did think her cover of "My Prerogative" by Bobby Brown was alright. I think the timing and the lyrics really fit her.

Wow, a knock on Hendix's Star Spangled Banner? As a guitarist, a masterpiece, IMO.

Back on Metallica, Bullet for My Valentine did a great Creeping Death.

Whitney Houston's rendition of the National Anthem for the 1991 Super Bowl. I hated it then, and I hate it now.
