He did'nt carry his home state last time which to me says a lot. I don't believe he is an option realisticly. I think now as I did a month ago, your gonna be looking at a Clinton/Clinton ticket...unbeatable unless the troops are out of Iraq by Spring.

I don't think the American people are convinced that the Dems have any of the more conservative issues on their agenda. Therefore you will have a Republican president based on that alone, IMO.

He did win the popular vote in 00.....

guess it's a good thing the popular vote doesn't decide who's elected President.

Al Gore is supposedly from Carthage, TN, a place where his family made millions from tobacco. Ironically enough, the Gores were still tobacco millionaires despite his impassioned "as God as my witness" sermon.

He was apparently a terrible landlord as well.

Can Al Gore go home again? - Salon

granted, it's an old article, and probably not relevant any more, unless you are the kind of person who takes past history into account when judging a candidate running in the present.

Actually Gore is from Washington, DC, at least born there.

Gore may have been a terrible landlord, but Bush has been a terrible President.

Just goes to show the wisdom of our founders.

It's not much of a stretch to say Gore would not have been a worse President then Bush. I voted for Bush, in hindsight that was a mistake.

Conventional wisdom and common sense would seem to agree with you, but we're talking about a party that couldn't get an incumbent VP elected in a slowing but still robust economy in 2000 and couldn't win in 2004 with the President way under 50% approval.

Gore has done nothing but show his insanity over the last 8 years... no way he could get elected now.

I think he is aiming for it. I heard him say that climate change would become the #1 issue on the presidential race within the next 100 days, I think that is the number he used.

It's amazing what candidates like Al Gore and John Kerry can do to a party's presidential aspirations isn't it?

It really is. That being said, while I give the Democrats a pass on selecting Gore since he was an incumbent VP at the time. John Kerry was their own fault.

I'd love to see it become the #1 issue in the media.

Ironically, Gore wasn't terribly bad when he was repping for Tenn. He went 180 on alot of his platforms when he hooked up with the Clintons and alienated his home state. He hasn't been chirping out of his beak since.
