He may have made a bad decision too if he doesn't get much playing time at FSU.

On the Hill the door was wide open for him to learn fast and get on the field fast.

This is 1 situation where Tennessee just may have been the best option and he walked right past it.

It's actually hard to recruit against the Florida schools where they can say "come on down where the babes in the bikins are".

Also he may have wanted the ACC where it will be much easier running for him.

Playing in the SEC is definately playing against future NFL players most every week so SEC players prove more to the NFL teams.

Maybe he's just scared of SEC talent.

His loss and I won't miss him.

VFL...GBO!!!

Playing time at FSU? He will be starting replacing Cook...why do you think he chose the Noles, to sit on the bench or Redshirt.

As far as him not coming to UT, do you think he would have beat out Kelly, Fils-Aime or Chandler? He saw that the Vols were set at RB for at least the next two years. He would have probably been redshirted at Tennessee.

Tennessee's first priority is finding more top DT, LB, CB recruits. CBJ did that with this year's class. He also got a couple of good OL especially a potential LT to protect Dormady or Guaratano in the pocket.

Running backs can't help this program, we need offensive/defensive linemen. Get the right linemen and you can utilize 2 star backs.

Wow, I'm impressed (sincerely), most don't realize what you said is the foundation to a program. NFL running backs are very nice (buy gifts/give praise) to the line for a good reason.

Weird, didnt you just go on a long rant about me being the problem with lossing recruited and damaging the program? Yet because a running back chooses another school you call him scared and say he made a bad decision by not coming here? Instead of just congratulating the kid on this decision? Yep im the problem on here.

Not sure why you would miss him, he was never here.

I know its a dead horse...but...I think this is a result of our W/L record. Beat SC and Vandy, 10-2, go to get beat by Bama, 10-3, still be the best option for Sugar Bowl. Even if that's a loss, 10-4, with appearances in big games. Goals met. Which = contract extensions for Butch and staff. Which = coaching staff stability. Which = recruits not worrying about who will be their coach in '18. Jimbo has the buyout to prove he's not going anywhere and I think that played a part in this, as well as some other recruits that said 'thanks, but no'.

We dont know the real reason he chose FSU, but didnt Jimbo want the LSU job but LSU wasnt willing to pay what he wanted?

Would you rather be giving kids cars and cash or champions of life?

To be honest I would rather be giving them champions of life and doing it the right way.

Only if it's an equal playing field. It's not so therefore we are at a disadvantage. There's a reason we aren't a top 4-5 class in the SEC.

We should have offered him a car. Oh wait that's Bama. We should have offered him Cash. Oh wait that's Auburn. What do we offer again? Oh yeah. Champions of Life trophies and a loss to Vanderbilt.

Kind of surprised Akers settled for free shoes from Free Shoes U.

I think LSU wanted Fisher a lot more than Fisher wanted LSU.

No reason for him to make what was essentially a lateral move IMO.

Butch put himself on the hot seat & mismanaged a 5* RB who left the team. This was a casualty of that. Has a lot to prove next year.

I hope by the term mismanaged you mean he did not tell him to hit the road last year. I think he did what anyone would have done and try and appease his sh*tty attitude and hope he came around.

No disrespect intended but there is no way in hell this would have happened. Anywhere.

How can you be?

This recruiting class has been a disaster for an entire year now. It's quite obvious if the highly rated player has no ties to the program, then they are simply not coming here.

disaster. ok. Im gonna go eat my lunch that is a little cold. I mean FROZEN LIKE THE DEPTHS OF THE ANTARCTIC OCEAN.

Cam Akers just committed to FSU. That would have been a big grab for us.

Oh well let's go beat Nebraska!

Vol til I fall!

We all know where he committed. No need to start a completely separate and pointless thread to say something you could've easily said in the Akers thread. We all know it would've been YUGE

We could offer them directions to your front porch for nights they are in a Billy Madison mood.

No. Butch is directly responsible for a lot of things, but Hurd's hissy fit isn't one of them.

Hurd quit on his teammate during the season. You don't coddle that type of behavior.

Hurd and his attitude had more impact on this season than anybody realizes IMO.

Give me an OL with 3*/4* RS-Srs and RS-Jrs and nearly any 3* RB you can find will be productive enough to win.

As has been stated, it's the O-line guys. It's the O-line.
