Would Jeff Tedford be a bad hire?

This might be the worst thread started in this forum. Good Lord this would be an awful hire.

Have you even read half the threads in this forum? This is the same forum that thinks we could hire OK State's coach and even Jim Harbaugh. Good lord try breathing through your nose and not through your mouth...

Inherited a dump on probation with a 1-10 record and pathetic facilities. Proceeds to pump out Boller, Rodgers, a new weight room, facilities, renovated stadium with top deck, and the all time winningest record in school history. Total joke. That program was in ruins before Tedford was there.

Nice post. And it was only his first coaching job!

So the argument against Tedford is:
(1) He's not Gruden or a home run
(2) He hasn't won a conference or National Championship
(3) Possible health issues as pointed out by CaptainZach *strongest argument and biggest concern*

I'm just taking stock. Of all the coaches on the list I think he's in the second tier behind Gruden and Gary Patterson, probably around or below Charlie Strong and Dan Mullen (who both meet the top 2 criteria). This is only my assumption which also takes into account that Gundy, Stoops, Shaw and Jim Harbaugh are secure in their jobs and would LOL if we contacted them

Strongest argument against Tedford is that over ten years he won double digit games twice in the PAC ten and other than that was good for a 7 or 8 win finish. I don't think he will inspire confidence amongst the natives

Squandered considerable talent in a sorry ass conference.

Worse case scenario: Petrino or Tedford?

OP, are you serious? Tedford? Pulled a Hamilton?

Yes- I never implied or stated that he was my number one choice. There are better candidates. I just wanted to figure out where he would stand compared to the other names out there.

Yes- Tedford.

Yes- Pulled a Hampton in that he fired the guy that built the modern era identity of the program.

Personally I think Cal's A.D. pulled a Hamilton by firing him too early. I think he has a strong resumé but could he win in the SEC?

Absolutely 100% could not get it done here. He failed in the most talent rich state in the USA. He would fall flat on his face here.
