Would Obama be a part time President?

It could have been about McCain being a part time president and I would have made the exact same observation.

Well crank one of those threads out real quick and lets get started! Im just waiting to trash talk the Clinton Admin.

I stand by my statement...you cited three examples of Obama's absence...and I suggest that you check McCain's status on those votes. None of the votes you highlighted were from last year, so the CNN article is not relevant to those votes.

So...do you think that Obama was not campaigning during his missed votes? Was McCain?

i think mccain has a little longer history of voting than hussein obama does. obama didn't vote so he wouldn't have to make any commitments. when he gets into office, that's when we'll see the true hussein obama.

According to MCCain, Obama is the reason for all the problems in Washington, now you're telling me Obama is never there. Which one is it?
According to McCain, Obama is unfit to lead the country. JM just waited too late to make the point and doesn't make it enough now.

I disagree with McCain on Obama being unfit to lead the country but I agree with you that he waited too late to convince voters of that.

and which part of Obama's history are you using to make the determination about his fitness to lead? Law school? Community organizer? Campaigner? Speech maker? Absentee senator groomed for the job in Chicago's cesspool? Fantasy economics?

Just curious, because it seems most want to talk about Bush in supporting Obama rather than Obama's qualifications.

I don't disagree that McCain has a more defined and clearer voting record due to his years in the Senate. However, the purpose of this thread was to suggest that he would be an absentee President just as he has been an absentee Senator...using a two-month period cited in a CNN article as an example. My comments are just intended to point out that McCain was gone for the majority of those same votes as well...and the difference actually just comes down to a few days in a period of two months.

If his lack of a voting record makes someone squeamish about what his true stances are...then so be it. But, I think that it is dishonest to portray his time away from the Senate while campaigning as anything more than essentially the status quo for candidates in the presidential race.

And what makes him unfit? Because you say so isn't a good enough answer. I am not convinced you are the intellect you project yourself to be.

truefan,

I can only read what you say when others respond to it, so don't be offended that I don't respond correctly.

If you're trying to argue that the onus is on me to prove a man unfit for the office rather than upon him to prove his fitness, you should turn in your registration card because you're as incapable of making decisions as many of your comments indicate you might be.

Second, I haven't claimed to be smart or have a monopoly on correctness. I give my opinions. Take them or leave them. I'm cool with you thinking I'm an idiot. Join the club.
