Would Pat fire Holly?

No. She wouldn't fire her. She would put her in a role that used her strengths and benefited from her temperament. Holly is a nurturer, a coddler, a smoother of ruffled feathers and a mender of hurt feelings. Being critical, tough and demanding isn't her nature. She and Pat were yin and yang, because they brought different things to the table. The LVs needed both and they benefited from both.

Now Holly is playing her role but no one is filling Pat's. You can't make someone what they're not. The LVs could restructure the staff and reallocate responsibilities. Hiring someone with a skillset and temperament more like Pat's as an assistant HC would restore the balance and address the team's weaknesses. While not ideal, it's practical solution to a difficult problem. Transitioning in a new direction would temper the negativity and give Holly a soft landing, which is what Fulmer, former players and Pat would want.

Lol... Holly is still building her program? I hate to tell ya but if it ain't built by now it's never gonna happen....but you keep on making excuses for her and this once storied program will keep wallowing in mediocrity.

Pat would have established goals and targets. She would have provided council to Holly and tracked the measureable goals and targets. When the targets were not met, there would be a mutual plan to achieve the goals. Failure to improve would result in Pat feeling let down and knowing she had to fire her friend. Dave Hart abandoned the LV program and Cheek allowed it. Both should have retirement benefits confiscated.

She's going her 6th going on 7th season. Fact. Yes she has made mistakes along, (fact) the way, but she addressed each one of them each year. (fact)

Once storied program (fact), sorry there isn't another Pat out there (fact). Sorry, there isn't another Geno out there. Sorry, there isn't another Tara, out there. Sorry there isn't another Kim out there.

Holly and the team needs to get better better this summer, hopefully they address their toughness and get in the gym all summer.

I feel better, we rode the season with freshman guards, our guards wasn't ready, no matter how talented coming out of high school, our guard wasn't ready.

Holly your players and team needs some toughness, you're last three teams were soft mentally and physically.


Fire hire no, she just needs to keep getting better, get we got better on recruiting, now let's work on off our off-season program to get these ladies ready for next year.

Push them be great, or be average.

This is a difficult question. Pat coaching was not producing as ell in the last few years she was here. UConn was beginning to win everything as they are doing now. I don't think anyone would have fire her if she was still coaching and has Holly's record and had recruited the same players that Holly has. But, Holly is not Pat and while believe Pat would still be coaching, I don't think Holly would have been fired yet. I also think that Pat would have changed her offense which is something Holly should do, and that Westbrook would not be starting until she could reduce her turnovers.

I don't think she would fire Holly because Holly is doing exactly what she was taught to do. Problem is that style of play no longer works. UT can't just load up with top players and roll over everyone anymore. More pressure on coaches because there are more good coaches. More pressure on players because there are more good players. A Pat clone will no longer be final 4 successful.
