Would T Martin be in the 50 best QBs of the BCS era?

I appreciate what he did, but no way he's top 50. In fact, IMO he's probably the 2nd or 3rd best QB we've had in the past 15 years.

I'm not sure why winning the 1st BCS title makes Tee Martin better, but on talent alone I think he's better than several on this list. Had FSU beaten UT, would Marcus Outzen deserve to be on the list? IMO, no.

Still, Tee should be on there. Ainge was left off because of the '05 debacle.

and a serious lack of talent.....

glad he's gotten his life on the right track--but Ainge is probably THE most overrated QB in the history of UT :salute:

I think one could make the case for Tee over Braxton Miller.

Both played 2 years. Unfortunately for Tee, Miller has two more years.

BM Stats: 56.7% comp., 3189 passing yards, 28 passing TDs/10 INTs, 20 Rushing TDs

TM Stats: 55.4% comp., 4592 passing yards, 32 passing TD/16 INTs, 16 Rushing TDs

Certainly, further down the list, one could argue for Martin over Greg McElroy at #58

College Football's Top 50 Quarterbacks of the BCS Era | AthlonSports.com

Athlon doesn't seem to think so. I really have no idea how some of these people made this list over the QB from the winner of the first BCS NC game. Also, the ordering is a bit mind boggling. For example, they have Aaron Murray on there, and ranked higher than David Greene. That's a stumper.

Where would you have put Tee?

He definitely belongs in the top 20 ahead of Ken Dorsey!!! Some of the guys in the top 20 are just a joke! :salute:

I somehow skipped over Michael Vick at #6.

Michael Vick, Virginia Tech (1999-00)
Stats: 3,299 yds, 21 TD, 11 INT, 1,299 yds, 17 TD

TM Stats: 55.4% comp., 4592 passing yards, 32 passing TD/16 INTs, 614 yards rushing, 16 Rushing TDs

I thought Vick might be a bit low. I was surprised that Chris Leak made the list. Wasn't Donnovan McNabb a BCS era QB? How does he not make it?

His final year was '98 right...We beat them 1st game of the season I think.

Yep, beat them 34-33 in Syracuse, they were ranked 17th at the time, and McNabb was the QB

McNabb was still there after Manning. He should only get 1 year though

They graduated HS the same year. (I think) As I recall there were three QBs ranked by "rivals" or whoever it was back then and it was 1) Peyton 2) Mcnabb 3) Tim Strachan.

Tim Strachan broke his neck at the beach the week after he graduated HS and never walked again. Was supposed to play at PSU. Crazy/csb story, really good dude

true but McNabb did play in the BCS (as we know it). I thought Booty was the #1 QB that year but he didn't come out so it didn't matter

Those people need to stfu. Tee is always a Vol!

He is as much of a Vol as your bestfriend is your bestfriend that is dating your x wife that cheated on you, took your house and kids, and ruined you. Then you invited him to come back and he said "No....&@$@ You"

That was my recollection. McNabb seemed really good in that game. I always liked him after that performance. But it could just be my fuzzy recollection from those years.

Tee started 25 games. He went 22-3. He lost to UF in Gainesville to the 4th ranked Gators by 2 points. The Vols string together a run beating 10th ranked Georgia, 10th ranked Bama and 24th ranked Notre Dame through the first weekend in November. The Vols are ranked #3 and on the road where Clint Stoerner gets his revenge. Vols lose that game 28-24 and tumble down to #7, eventually getting back to #6 before losing to the 3rd ranked Huskers and Eric Crouch in the Fiesta bowl, 31-21.

Everything that Athlon has put out this spring would give Bleacher Report a run for its money. Total sh-t!

Josh Booty was the consensus #1 QB coming out of high school when Peyton came out...
