Would the Committee have left out UT if...

The choice was all related to leaving out a team to ensure a SEC team was in the playoffs. It was a money decision not a 'who is the best' or 'who is most deserving' decision.

No one will ever admit to that because it cheapens the idea that it is about fairly arriving at a champion.

Having 12 next year will at least ensure all the P5 conference champions are in and at least one, maybe two non PF conference champions. The debate will shift to who the 6 teams that will not be a conference champion.

Yes. Prolly in favor of Alabama.

Just not true. Ala had 2 losses, ours would have been 1 had we beaten SC Jr and had the head to head win. We would have been in easily had we not lost to S. Carol. Plus you can't compare playing a Tr Fr QB to the experience that Milton had. We would've been knocked out in the first game, but would've gotten in.

The expanded playoffs can’t come soon enough
And you really think anything is gonna change? Guess what teams will be in the final 4? Probably a picture of Michigan, OSU, Bama, UGA, Texas and maybe one other school. That’s it. The more things change the more they stay the same.

in the 9 previous years of the playoffs there have been 7 unique teams play in the championship game.
in the previous 9 years of the BCS there were 11 unique teams that played in the championship game.

if you included all CFP games you get 14 unique teams, in twice the number of games compared to the BCS.

if you want parity or variety the playoffs don't provide it.

No…Bama had two losses and was out…we would have been 11-1 with our loss to #1 Georgia @Georgia so we’d have been ahead of Bama. Not sure we’d have been picked over an 11-1 Ohio State…but we’d have been ahead of Bama.

Would’ve been in ahead of TCU that year.
