What would you consider a big favorite? I can’t remember a time we were a big favorite in the Barnes era and laid an egg in the SECT:

Not sure we were big favorites but we absolutely should have won it Grant and Admirals last year. After beating UK and getting to the final and then playing like they did, was pretty bad.

Well, it is just halftime and Florida came back from more points to force OT, against A&M, yesterday. But, I'm rooting my a$$ off for the Aggies

From all the national media outlets, the top contenders for the SECT title are Auby, UT, UK, and Arky.
Just saying it makes things "easier" if one of those is punched out early.

Absolutely, but that has yet to happen…

There are advantages to having played one game ... you are familiar with the venue.
The downside is you are a little leg weary.

Auburn was fresh and their shooting in the venue was horrific. They might get it straightened out.
Did they come in over-confident? Maybe!
Texas A&M had a game to get acclimated. They came in confident (and a little tired).

Auburn will make adjustments. They will start taking shots closer to the rim (picking up fouls and ) building some confidence in their team offensively.
TAM is bound to slow down.

I would prefer UT to start our game by pounding it inside to get comfortable in the venue, before we unleash shooting from deep.
That is the recipe that MS used to best SC
52 (MS made 22) of their shots were in the paint area. (SC racked up 19 fouls.) I expect they will attempt to use that same formula tonight.

The downside on full display for MS:
4 of their starters played over 30 minutes! That will take a toll if we can keep the game going at a high pace.
Smith is playing better than when we last faced this team. We want someone else to beat us besides Smith 6 (20) and Molinar (19).

The upside: Vandy and Texas A&M are going to give MS a ton of confidence. We need to play to win! If we come out tentative, that is a bad pill to swallow.
