Would you be mad if Bruce gave a scholarship to Skylar?

He doesn't deserve one. On a side note, I wish Steven Pearl would develop a 12-15 spot up jumper this summer. With his defense that would make him a really nice role player.

It would be absolutely ignorant to give him a scholarship.

I am still bewildered as to you EVER thinking you know better about anything related to basketball than CBP. Your posts in this forum are legendary for their ignorance on many fronts. That being said, Skylar probably shouldn't get a scholarship because he isn't good enough to contribute consistently at this level; however, if Pearl promised him a scholarship and gives him one, I have no problem with it

Yes his big shot did help us beat Kansas, but other than that he really didn't do to much for us except throw up bricks and foul people. Don't get me wrong I like Skylar but I would much rather see us offer a 3*,4*, or a5* player the scholarship.

Skyler try's but he's not D1 material.

I think the better question should be "would you be mad if Bruce gave a scholarship to STEVEN PEARL?"

I've never been a big fan of Steven just because he LOOKS like he doesn't belong but with his defensive effort I would say that he deserves one over McBrick. What ever you do Bruce, just don't give one to both of them.

Steven has a free ride already.

To answer the question yes I'd be mad. Skylar played like a walk-on this year therefore I don't believe he deserves a scholarship. I'd much rather see an incoming 4 or 5 star recruit get that. That being said Bruce Pearl is a great coach and knows what he's doing so I'll trust his judgement.

I would rather give Bone a scholly.

Shouldn't you be practicing for Augusta next week?

Wasting a scholarship on a bench player sounds like something you would do.

He hit one meaningful shot all year. Let's pay his way through school or he will transfer to Carson-Newman.

He's a freshman. Relatively few frosh contribute in a big way; it's not just him.
I say give it to him.

Freshmen contribute far more often in basketball than football...

And when that scholarship can go to someone with actual talent, I wouldn't waste it.

One three point shot (albeit a good one) does not give you a scholarship.

I would rather see us use that scholarship to recruit a post player to close out this recruiting season. He really is not likely to develop to a true D1 player.

Every time some bumpkin' for Greenback comes on here complaining about Stephen Pearl being a "waste of scholarship" I want to get out my idiot ray and obliterate them.

The information provided in the link below does not specifically state the total amount children of UT employees are discounted but I'm sure Bruce is more than happy to make up any difference. If anyone really needs total clarification, my cousin is a full time professor at UT, I'll be glad to ask.

Yes, because it would be utterly stupid. It's not like Bruce can't pay his son's way to school.

Now, if he had been a walk-on who'd played as much as he just did, and wasn't the coach's son, I would not be mad at all.
