Would You Carry A Murse?

This is close, mine is a lighter shade. But I'm 6ft3, 220lbs, middle age white guy, so no one really bothers me about it. I like to carry it to keep my hands free. I carry my planner, an umbrella, ear buds and a snack. Works for me.

Yea....that's a murse.

You could pack your speedo in that on the way to pool.

I'd carry a satchel before I regularly carried an umbrella.

I don't get the hatred of umbrellas. We were in Venice last week in the pouring rain. All the Europeans had umbrellas. My family stood there wet and miserable, even my mother in law. They all have small travel umbrellas they could have carried but chose to leave them at home. The stores were selling them for 5 Euro but nope, my American family chose to be miserable rather than dry. We are a strange people.

Europeans also wear scarves year round, which I don't get.

Once you're soaking wet, may as well just enjoy it. Maybe those people in Venice are all witches?

In my daily life, if it doesn't fit it my pockets I don't need it.

I have a Jansport that I carry my tablet, jump drives, earphones, Gerber utility knife, calipers, conceal carry, various keys, camera, tape measure, and other small items.

Hell, I just wear overalls most of the time unless I am at the office. My 5" barreled Ruger single action fits perfectly (open carry) in one of the front chest bib pockets and a boot flask of untaxed corn in the other one. Plenty of pockets for cargo, snuff and such, no need for a murse, purse or satchel.

I don't begrudge anyone for carrying a satchel. I don't carry enough stuff on a daily basis that won't fit in my pockets. And I don't carry an umbrella so.....

Things that don't fit in pockets very well.

And at least you didn't say an umbrella.

I wasn't allowed to carry an umbrella for so long (unlike my AF pals), I now carry one everywhere. It keeps my head dry and is also useful against angry dogs. Plus the purse draws more attention then a car or jeans...

Us AF folks were smart enough not to go out in the rain.

Working at a place where I can't carry really gets on my nerves. I'm jealous.

I've got a leather laptop briefcase/bag that can be carried by a handle or over the shoulder with a strap. It could be used to carry anything that fits of course but other than the laptop it isn't used for much.

If you wanted/needed to carry things beyond what fits in your pocket and keep your hands free one would require something for the task...if it's a slung satchel so be it. I see no issues.
