Would you say this to a fellow Vol?

As most know, UT has asked that all Vol fans wear ORANGE to the game.
That was the topic of conversation today with a friend. He said that any Vol fan he sees on campus with a non orange shirt will hear about it from him. (I guess to know they are Vol fans they have on a cap or a non orange shirt that has a Power T).
He says he will laughingly ask, “hey man, todays an ORANGEOUT, you got another shirt that’s Orange to wear into the Stadium?”
Even though I hope everyone wears Orange, I’m way too shy and non confrontational to say this to somebody I don’t know (and probably even people I do know).

Just doesn’t seem productive, antagonizing people for no reason. Maybe if he went out and bought a bunch of orange shirts to give out lol.

Yeah, kind of unnecessary. Why not just enjoy the game instead of being the dress code police. Now if he wants to buy a couple hundred orange shirts to hand out after he acts the fool...that would be nice.
Oh no, he’s too cheap to do that. He did say he would tell people that they sell a lot of cheap orange t shirts on the strip…lol.

Just because he gets by with it doesn't mean they don't think he's a douche for saying it. . . I'm not saying your friends a douche or anything. . .
Mostly he’s a cool guy. Moved to Tennessee from New York and still has some “yankee” in him. Lol. But he has completely fallen in love with the south and southerners and the Vols.

He might need to be very selective............

Your friend's approach seems quite appropriate, and I think definitely non-confrontational. He's not making a demand, or coming across as a bludgeon beating others on the head. I like it.

Is your friend a big guy that can take care of himself? If not, then he's just asking for an a$$ whoop'n. Basically he need to leave it alone.

You can handle it less controversial. Like I cant wait to see the orange out they are calling for everyone to wear orange. It will look awesome. At that point if they are going to the game and have a spare shirt they can change or if they have spare money perhaps they can buy an orange one. On the other hand they may not care and wear white and they will be the guy who splotches it up but at least wasnt you. Haha

Lot of softies up in here with no sense of humor. Can easily be done in a good natured way and make friends in the process.

He is not physically intimidating in any way. So people don’t usually get upset that he’s a loud mouthed former Yankee. And he has fully and completely adopted the Vols as his team. Goes to all games home and away in football and all other sports home games.

Even if he was physically intimidating, it wouldn't matter if he did it in a good natured way. I everybody's different, though. I like a person that can engage in friendly ribbing. I know (the hard way) that some people don't.
