Definitely some dumb sh!t to say. Even if he does think that way, Gruden should've known better that to put that crap in an email. Except maybe the Goodell is an "anit-football pussy", that's debatable..

That said, this stuff has been around for ten years, why now?

Who here has watched the new Dave Chapelle special? I just saw it Saturday. He had a LOT to say about society's tolerance of affronts to the African-American community vs. the LGBTQ community.

Watching this play out for Gruden makes me think he's not wrong. We think Gruden can "survive" the racial slurs, but not the gay slurs. Fascinating, right after hearing Chappelle.

The WSJ article said it was the NFL. Gruden is a moron. I just think the NFL’s legal basis for this is incredibly weak (which is why I’m sure they pressured Gruden to resign). You know the league leaked that story to the WSJ. If he chose to pursue it, I bet Gruden would have legal recourse against the league. They’re probably counting on the fact that he’s wealthy, and he’ll just want the issue to go away quickly.

It wasn’t known about. The league’s investigation brought this up into Washington’s workplace

Initially, Gruden had a lot of African-American players and colleagues coming to his defense, although with the new leaks, it certainly appears Gruden may have been using racially charged language. But that’s been him and the good Lord above.

There were plenty of people who wanted him fire and whole he used a racial “trope” he didn’t necessarily say anything racist.

Had Gruden used the “n word” I’d guarantee you he would have been fired.

Wow! I would have been thrilled with Gruden as head coach, but now I’m SO thankful we dodged that bullet!! Would have set us back three more years!!

I agree with you. The first email, while a bad look, probably doesn’t get him fired. With this second leak it was inevitable that he was finished. Honestly, I’m shocked that he was stupid enough to send emails like that to multiple people.
