Better question… why is there 3 on 3 in the Olympics?
The quality of play is so bad, even from the good teams. I've watched part of a few games out of curiosity and there are so many easy buckets around the basket that get missed, jacking up wild shots, etc. It's like watching random dudes playing down at the Y or something.

Olympics what? When do the Olympics start? Sometime this year, right?

You haven’t left the house in a week.. Every day that I go out to lunch, 3v3 basketball is on a tv somewhere.

Can we please remove all the lawn games? Badminton and table tennis are no different than flip cup.

I told a friend the other day that the 3 best players from the SEC in any given year would wipe the floor with the guys. Some of these guys can barely dribble the ball.

Off topic ... but does anyone else remember when boxing used to be a big deal in the Olympics? Legends such as Muhammed Ali (Cassius Clay in 1960), George Foreman and Sugar Ray Leonard were introduced to the world?

Then the 1988 Olympics in Seoul happened .... Specifically, a fight involving Roy Jones Jr. and a South Korean was fixed. Since then, boxing has all but disappeared from coverage, and the boxing venue is always empty. It's only been covered this year due to a transgender controversy on the women's side.

The Olympics want flip cup, but they have to get the rights from Beerfest.

Both teams are in last place lol..who the heck they got playing?

NVM got my answer Jimmer Ferdette.
I was eating lunch at Texas Roadhouse the other day and the women were on multiple screens. Couldn't avoid seeing them even when trying. They can't dribble, pass, score or play D. Total embarrassment!

Further off topic,, but even more interesting. I watched a YouTube video the other day about Cassius Marcellus Clay (the man Ali/cassius clay was named after) had Ali not changed his name I think this dude would have had movies about him. He was the original real John Wick/Punisher in like 1830. Dude was a beast.

I saw that one big reason the USA 3v3 has such time getting good players is because of the qualifications. You have to participate in pro-ams and FIBA 3x3 World Tour games to get qualifying points. Which means no active NBA player you've ever heard of will be in it because their teams would not likely let them play in those competitions. So we are left with washed-up players that never made it in the NBA or didn't even get a chance. The wild part is the women team was the reigning champs but even those players are mostly WNBA washouts.

Basically because the games you need to qualify happen mostly in eastern asia and Europe most of our best layers don't have the time to participate even if their teams would let them. It lasts from April to November and covers like 20+ countries and only 2 events are even played on this continent (both Canada). There are other ways to get points but the FIBA events give the most so players fro there have the advantage. I think there should be a push for some Gleague guys to participate so we can have a real team instead of Woody Harrelson (played by Jimmer) and company.

Seriously, if you add up all the time that I've watched Olympics this week, it's probably less than 5 minutes. I saw Ledecky like half pool-length lead and watched it for 30 sec. This time also includes me coasting by NBC as I surfed for something to watch.

I cannot believe that NASCAR and PGA took time off for this crap.

While Baseball got cancelled.. It’s a joke. None of these 3v3 players are considered the best in the world.
It's not the best in the world. It's the best athletes from the countries represented in the Olympics. The Olympic committees have changed the rules on participation to prevent a nation from sweeping all 3 medals in some sports. These games have been watered down to where it's almost unwatchable.

When I get bored with the coverage, I just go paint a wall and watch it dry :) :) :)
