I don't know if I've ever been this mad over a basketball game...this team just cannot finish. That Henderson kid winning just made it worse.

henderson imposed his will despite UT's efforts to stop him.Or you could say he really wanted to win. :ermm:

Didn't see the game. Just got home and saw the stats. Looks like McRae is the only player who showed up.

Moore played alright. I'm not sure Stokes played, wait I'm wrong he didn't help on the shooter about 5 times. Sorry but his effort is beginning to get to me. I know he misses Maymon. I know he is a freshman in some people's eyes. I know his size 20 shoes slow him down. I know all the excuses. I also know none of those excuses stop him from putting forth some hustle and effort. He appears like he doesn't care 85% of the time. He talked the talk, we are gonna win at Rupp while I'm here. I can get 10 rebounds in my sleep, yet how many double digit rebound games has he had. People can hate on McBee, hell I do sometimes. But when I see him, Moore, Jordy and Josh giving everything for this team. While Kenny, Golden and Stokes walk around asleep 85% of the time it drives me nutts. Well that's my rant for the week. Lol

Refs were God awful! They got caught up in crowd's emotion and made ridiculous calls against the Vols over a 5-6 minute stretch there in the early 2nd half. It would've taken a very special team to be able to overcome that and close the game strong and we just don't have that team right now

Kenny has the basketball IQ of a two year old. As for the officiating, get use to it, this is the SEC, you are not suppose to get calls on the road.

What's so sad to me with Jarnell is that I honestly think his best game was his very first! When he came off the bench against UK at Rupp...he was so aggressive trying to score. I know he's probably had better games stats wise, but he honestly looked better to me in that game than any we've seen this year.

I agree, and thats the way it should be. The problem is, we dont usually get the calls at home either. (See Ole' Miss at home)

All whining aside, turnovers & free throws cost TN the game, again.

Wish we had a kid who could shoot the ball like Henderson. If we had 1 guy who could shoot like that, we would have no more than 3 losses right now.

Really? 39%. 36% on 3s. Percentage-wise it's McBee last year (though McBee was worse on 2s and better on 3s). He hits a couple of shots in a row and everyone goes nuts. Ridiculous. Exactly the type player who can shoot you right out of a game.

They set picks for him to get open shots and he was still just 6 of 15 on 3s. If that's his middling game, I'd say he showed something, but it isn't; it's his best. More importantly, the whole team has to defend. The guys guarding the pickers didn't talk and didn't disrupt like their supposed to. McRae shouldn't have to run through 3 picks while Stokes stands flat footed 6 ft from a guy who's catching and shooting.

If big men pop out on Henderson, its an easy back door for a big man due to spacing. You need to front Henderson or shadow and force him to put the ball on the floor. Chasing is for the birds.

When the big sees his man about to set a pick, he needs to slide to the side Henderson is cutting around. Make Hendersons path more difficult, our bigs just watch him freely run around the pick. You are right though, get in his face and shadow his every move. We would back off and just let him go anywhere he wanted, and the bigs just watched.

Agree. Chasing him will just wear you out, and they are a good screening team, so he will eventually get open anyway.

Nope. Even if you're trying to front a perimeter player, when they run him through 3 or 4 picks you are at that point chasing. If the guy guarding the pick man is aware of what's going on on the floor beyond the one guy he's guarding he will see the pick coming and do what he can to disrupt. Weakside defense is also aware and eliminates a back cut. You won't see any of the best teams defend that stuff the way we did.
Not only that, it really starts with the first pick, usually along the baseline. Henderson should have ended up in a tangle with Hall, Yemi, or whoever else was guarding the low post.
