That'll be year by year decisions.I mean outside of Tate is doesn't seem were willing to give all that much to wrs in NIL.Supposedly with Tate it isn't all about the money anyways, but with this offense I agree with how their handling things in the wr department.I mean come here and put up huge numbers qnd get urself drafted high or go fetch a college payday somewhere else and hope you make it to the nfl.
If one has paid attention, one would know we are not going to go crazy with NIL on a one year player. It has now been proven that we PREFER multiple years of eligibility and potential out of the transfer portal. Yes, we will take a one year player, of course; but we are not going to throw the bank at them...and, it has to be absolutely, 100% the right fit, positionally and culturally. I truly believe this is the reason we "missed" on Verse, Neyor, and Agude...we decided not to match what FSU, Texas, and Miami threw at them, be it NIL (or other promises)....as it has now been proven, those schools are MAJOR players with NIL, as well.AP has hinted that we are not willing to match NIL. He said it comes down to NIL vs. improving draft stock.
I believe the 1 year of eligiblity has alot to do with it as well. Its been documented their looking for multi year guys.If one has paid attention, one would know we are not going to go crazy with NIL on a one year player. Eh. Or we may just not agree with his market valuation. One can really want something, but if it isn't in the budget, it isn't in the budget.More like the coaching staff feels fine with our depth at WR and are wanting to allocate NIL to other prospects, if we really wanted him we would be the highest bidder
It was noted that this seems to have changed very recently. Seems like they've already evaluated most of those guys with multiple years and meet their requirements. And now with the NCAA likely to so away with the 25 limit for the next 2 years, think they're just wanting to use the spots on the best remaining guys with 1 year, then it won't affect the 85 for the 2023 class and we can load up.I believe the 1 year of eligiblity has alot to do with it as well. Its been documented their looking for multi year guys.

AP said it today or yesterday: we don't have unlimited funds, so it has to be managed like an NFL franchise and you have to allocate your funds wisely. Doesn't mean we may not really want him. Same as Neyor or Kasper. It is what it is. We'll get outbid for some guys, since each team will have different needs and valuations.
I do agree on not splurging on WRs, especially with this offense. QB of course, LT/RT for sure, then defense. The skill players are somewhat replaceable. Jmo
All of this...and, with all of this, "missing" on a prospect no longer means "missing" in the traditional sense. We may have wanted Verse or Neyor; but, if we were not willing to up what we would pay or promise, did we really "miss"?Eh. Or we may just not agree with his market valuation.
