Out of the 7 transfers they took last cycle, 4 of them played meaningful snaps and were contributors this year: Howard, Judkins, Downs, McLaughlin.

Their best player is a HS recruit.

Agreed. Most of their $20M+ went to high school players and player retention. Then cherry picked from the portal.
I think that is our MO as well, just don't think we have the same budget as OSU.
We also have to fund a national championship baseball team, a #1 ranked MBB team and an undefeated WBB team.
Not sure what we spend on football but I'm sure it's not close to $20M.

The thing with Branch is he’s one of the best athletes in the country easily, but that doesn’t always mean he’s a great WR. However, he’s got the speed and athleticism where our scheme should be able to “scheme” him open a lot. Think dude can legit be a menace in this offense if we start running it more 22 style rather than 23 and 24 style.

I'd honestly sit out this bidding war and instead loading up on trying to land a top 5 class in 2026. I don't think one player is gonna make or break our chances to win a national title. But a top 5 class in 2026 definitely would.

I would rather have a top 5, best in class coaching staff. Then, the rest of the dominoes will fall!
