WVU vs UK game thread (AKA Wrestlemania)

What do all the talking heads say now...

First it was Kansas... then Syracuse... then Kentucky.... 3 No. 1's gone.

Then OSU was supposed to have a clear path to the championship game after Kansas lost. Oops. Got that wrong too.

Believe it or not I have WV going all the way in my bracket. After tomorrow I hope I'm wrong.

Yep. 8-1 all time now.

Quite frankly, I'm still just a little speechless. I only have three things.

1) BUTLER. He wasn't a secret, so I'm not sure how somebody continues to get those shots in the first half.

2) Free throws.

3) At one point, 1-20 behind the arc.


However, I believe this was a classic case of getting out coached in a lot of ways. There were times where we looked like a JV team against that 1-3-1.

I don't know what else to say. More later I suppose.

I think you summed it up pretty well. I also thought Kentucky would try to take it to them more(with Cousins)in the paint during the first half....maybe draw a few fouls and then try to speed the game up some.I was really wanting to see UK vs UT again....would have made the SEC look dominant in ANOTHER sport.

Wall and Bledsoe were getting in the lane at will, once they got the initial pass over the top of that 1-3-1. However, that was few and far between. We couldn't get the ball down low, because we never could beat the defense across the floor to get the angle.

Our passing was atrocious, which was due to the fact that we have been able to get away with floating lob passes over the top of a zone all year. Not against WVU, because of their length (which we haven't faced).

Then of course in the second half Huggins made adjustments and got several layups back door by taking advantage of our overplay defense. While we continued to play hot potato 35 feet from the basket and chuck up 3's.

Some might say "Well, their open shots, you gotta take them." Thats BS. A team as athletic and talented as UK shouldn't have to settle for anything, especially when your 0-20.

Just didn't like the game plan at all.
