Supposedly it's taped for next week's NXT. I just wish the rumors about him facing Zack. Sabre. Junior. were true.
Finally got around to watching Takeover last night and finished it today. Thoughts:
-Regal should've opened the show instead of HHH. That lot would've ate it alive and set an even better tempo for the show.
-Emma vs Asuka started out slow with the mat wrestling but ended up really good. There must be an astronomical difference in the salary for women on NXT and the main roster. I know NXT girls get their travel and makeup paid for, unlike the main roster. Otherwise I see no real reason why any girl would want to go up to the main show. Emma is proof of the difference. I still think Asuka is the best in the whole company. She is ridiculously over, even for somebody that doesn't speak a lot of english. Most if not all of the guys on the main roster wish they got the pop she did when she interrupted Nia.
-The NXT crowd can be a little annoying with the chants/singing, but at least they're into it unlike Raw/Smackdown or the bluehairs at UT football home games.
-Enzo/Casa vs the Mechanics. Pretty good match thats a sharp contrast in styles. The Mechanics feel like an old scool 80's southern tag team. With that said they could use a manager, like the old school 80's tag teams. Enzo is a pro at selling. Ziggler could probably learn a thing or two from him. I cannot wait for Enzo/Cass to move up and face New Day. Just as long as they bring Carmella with them, cause she's hot as hell, and you can't teach that!
-Corbin vs Crews. I'm surprised Corbin won. I'm assuming he's next in line for Balor. He's improved a lot in the ring. I was very much anti-Corbin, and thought he was so boring that he even bored himself, but he's learning how to play the heel and doing a good job. Between that and seeing his development on Breaking Ground, the guy has won me over. His face stomach still bothers me tho. As for Crews, he has the potential to be the man in WWE, but he needs to develop a voice/character, and not just be the smiling babyface.
-The camerman showing the guy holding the "NXT > RAW" sign. To quote Chikara's commentator, "Oooh somebody's getting fiyaaaed!"
-Bayley vs Nia Jax. I thought they both did a good job given how green Nia Jax is. If she wasn't related to the Rock, she wouldn't be here yet. That being said, she has made good strides with the little experience she has. It also doesn't help that the NXT women's division is like the UT football team. Tons of talent, but lacking experience and depth. I think Nia should've passed out here instead of tapped out. You have to wonder how Bayley feels when she gets serrenaded. She's probably gone from doubting if she would ever get over to being arguably the most over (active) performer in the company.
-Finn Balor vs Samoa Joe. Wow that Jack the Ripper entrance. Either Balor or Crews is going to be the next face WWE coming from NXT. Balor has it all. He's got the good looks they want, he can wrestle, and he's got a gimmick that will appeal to kids and adults. What a great match this was. I think the best NXT title match that I can remember. Much better than the Balor/Owens matches. I think Owens is a better overall "sports entertainer" than Joe, but for guys with comparable size, Joe is purely the better wrestler. The fun part is that there a lot of different ways they can go now! Up next can be Joe again, Corbin, Zayn, or even Itami who should be back soon.
-Last, but not least..."Heyyyyyyy Bailey! Oooh! Aaaah! I wanna know! If you'll be my girl!"
