WWE Thread III

Did they even get 10 minutes? That's a really difficult thing to do. Trying to have a title match in 8-10 minutes is really difficult.

I want to ask if you're referencing the women's title match or Wyatt-Orton, but the answer is both whether that's what you meant or not. There was just too much going on last night and both of those matches didn't get the time they deserved. I still think Wyatt and Orton stunk up the joint performance wise. There was one nice DDT and that was it.

The Cena/Nikki-Miz/Maryse match should've been a made for Total Bellas special. It was the main turning point to destroying the second half imo.

It's just so weird that Wrestlemania has ended with Reigns winning with a million fireworks going off. Who is that for exactly? I just don't get it. Is it so Vince can just whack off backstage? Lol

WM 28: The Rock stands victorious in front of a home crowd in his return match.

WM 29: John Cena gets his win back vs The Rock. Although this was kind of lame and the rematch really didn't need to happen as it was supposed to be "once in a lifetime" I at least get it.

WM 30: Daniel Bryan overcomes the odds finally and makes it to the top of WWE.

WM 31: Seth cashes in mitb and walks out as WWE champion.

And then these last two. Roman wins and and a million fireworks? Eh? Okay then.

Wrestlemania ended with Taker retiring. Roman winning was an afterthought for me.

Do any of y'all actually like wrestling?

For WM, I became a victim of what I've been cautioning others against.

The matches that most excited me as a wrestling loyalist were the one part time fans didn't care about. Vince, as any smart businessman would, catered to the part time fan for WM to keep them entertained, knowing I was watching regardless of what I thought of the WM overall product

I was on vacation all last week and didn't get home until after 8:00, so I had to play catchup watching last night.

I've got several things that irked me, but one thing we should all agree on, it was a helluva lot better than last year.

Every winner got a million fireworks. I get your disdain for Reigns, your anger is just misguided imo

90,000+ And 70,000 + attendance must be misguided as well then. My point is I just get who the ending is supposed to satisfy? A very small 5% of the fan base and Vince?

I suppose that's true. I look fondly back on HBK "retiring" Flair though. And Taker returing HBK. This just doesn't have the same feeling to me and maybe that's also a reason it left a sour taste in my mouth.

Lmao I just hate Roman Reigns. I guess that's all there is to it.

Let's not forget last night's real superstar...The security woman who apparently wasn't told about Gronk's involvement and still went to stop him even though he had her by about 125lbs and a half a foot or so.

We noticed her laughing after the fact when I'm guessing someone finally told her, which made it even better.

Lol. I actually thought it gave the spot a better feel. Why wouldn't security try and stop him? I'm glad she wasn't told. I thought it was great.

I listen with my ears and see with my eyes and they do not lie. Maybe 15% is a more realistic number though. lol I'll give you that.

Click the link i just posted, people lined up an hour and a half early for Reigns autograph session and the line overflowed into Samoa Joe's area so they cut his session short because he didn't have a lot of fans in his.

Point flew over your head

Maybe. I just think it's an awkward ending when it's someone the majority of the audience wishes would just go away standing tall with fireworks as opposed to guys the majority of the audience actually enjoy or at least respect.

I'm completely aware that Reigns has a fan base. Lol. But it's nowhere near a majority of the fanbase as a whole though. Doesn't surprise me that he drew more people than Joe at an autograph signing. One has been a main stay on the main show for years while the other has been for a couple months. Put Cena, Rollins, Styles, New Day, Orton And Chris Jericho beside Reigns, I would bet anything Reigns has the smallest line. Because the majority of wrestling fans aren't represented by women who like looking at "pretty" men and a few dudes that actually like him, and the 13 and under crowd still have Cena as their main dude. Until I start hearing a more Cena like reaction where it's at least 50/50 on a weekly basis, instead of this obvious Xpac heat he has, I'll stand by that.

He's a draw but he's not a main event level draw, nowhere near it at the moment. I will admit there's not many real main event draws at the moment.

Cena
Orton (as much as I hate him)
Styles
Rolllins.

I legit think that's about it. I think Reigns is completely mediocre, but there's potential there if he's booked anyway other than he's currently being booked. I hate Roman Reigns but I don't think I'm letting that hatred misguide me completely. Maybe I am but it just appears to me that the majority of the fanbase doesn't really care for the guy either. That's all I'm saying.

Again, every single match got a million fireworks, hence your misguided angst. So much angst over fireworks, when it should be against the writers of RAW

I get it. It's an awkward ending to me with Roman standing tall with or without fireworks. I get every Mania ends with Fireworks, the fireworks still made it more awkward to me though regardless. Just really had the feel of "THIS GUY IS A BIG DEAL DAMMIT! ACCEPT IT ALREADY" The writing team of RAW, let's be honest, that's basically Vince. So my angst is at Vince for sure. Lol.
